Just a heads up for those who don’t know. But in the latest Shadowloo Showdown Trailer, it mentions that both Naruo and KOK will be there. As you may have noticed recently, Naruo has switched from Ryu to Evil Ryu, he’s been using him on the KAO TV stream as well as the last Topanga tournament which he performed very impressively. And KOK is the #1 ranked Evil Ryu in the Japanese Arcade BP system. We’ve only seen a few grainy videos of his Evil Ryu in action, this time we will finally get to watch it live during SS2k12.
This is a chance to see arguably the two best Evil Ryu’s in the world play in a American style double elim singles tournament so I hope you guys can check it out. I’ll be rooting for these two all the way. I’m a big fan of a lot of the other players there as well, but this time I have to stay with my character loyalty because I really want to see a Evil Ryu do well.
I’ve found some combos conerning EX Sakunetsu. Since it has unique juggle potential, it has some pretty cool combos I havent seen before yet.
Jump mp xx ex sakunetsu xx medium axekick or U1 (prefer axekick due to stun damage)
Empty ex sakunetsu xx U1 works even from mid range. Although landing an empty ex sakunetsu is ofcourse not easy and very risky. (Maybe with frametraps?)
If this is old or not very usefull let me know why!
Watched a video last time of KOK’s Evil Ryu against a guy player which he did a safe jump from juggled Ryusokyaku(HK).After that u do slightly back, whiff far HK,jump forward HK
Hey guys Im picking up E. Ryu and I’m really liking him so far. Im originally a Sakura main but I’ve been wanting to try someone new and here I am lol. I was wondering Im sure you guys would know. Sometimes to end the round (if its like Final round) I started using kara demon off of F + mk but I start it with Cr. Mp then I do the two lp’s into the F + mk. Using the Cr. Mp you can see the 2 lp’s so it doesn’t seem like your doing demon at all. Of course it’s best if they block the Cr. Mp. I wasnt sure if you guys already use this or if it even matters…
There are a lot of ways to buffer demon. Instead of buffering your light punches in a c.mp, you can just press them along with f+mk. This is how I do the kara demon.
F+MK+LP, F+MK+LP, DF+LK+HP
Have to be pretty quick, but this is the best way to do it, IMO.
So the Topanga B League is over and I’m salty. Naruo finished tied for 2nd, but lost the tie-breaker to YHC Mochi because he had a overall worse W-L record according to the number of matches they played. Now instead of being guaranteed a spot, he has to fight Bonchan for it. At least it’s not Tokido, if that were the case then I wouldn’t have too much faith on him making it since he’s been 0-6 against Akuma so far. And Tokido beat KOK’s Evil Ryu twice at Shadoloo Showdown.
I have faith that Naruo can beat Bonchan and enter the A League along with Daigo, Mago, and the others. The Akuma match up just plain sucks though. Slow normals make ER lose the ground game. And his one tool to make up for him lacking in other areas(the dive kick) is useless in this match up since Akuma practically teleports away for free on wake up.
As for Sim, I actually don’t think that match up is that bad. If it’s 6-4 in favor of Sim against Ryu, I feel that Evil Ryu has it slightly better because if he can get in, he has a better mix up game on wake up and Sim is one of the few characters that he can tatsu > sweep so he can keep the pressure going. Naruo still lost convincingly 0-3, but still it’s not that horrible IMO.
Just a brief detail,if Ryu does against Evil Ryu forward THrow(corner),dash forward,cr LP,jump forward LK then he does not cross up.He stays in the front(fake cross up).
I tryed the same set up against seth and sakura (only for now) and it worked as ryu does against evil ryu.I havent test it against all roster yet
Cross posting just in case people don’t see this in the other threads
Remember that post I made(earlier in this thread) about corner set ups that causes fake cross ups and unblockables? Someone decided to create a video that shows every thing you can do against the entire cast. Really comprehensive and informative. You guys should really check this out, it’s much easier than reading the test that I or someone else post.

Don’t know whether he figured it out on his own or found out about it here, but good shit to the guy for making the video.
EDIT: Ok, I just realized this video was made by EsseX the Sinner. He’s a pretty good Evil Ryu player, from Europe I think. I’ve seen some of his matches where he made it to top 3 in his local tourney’s.
Ok so I started using e.ryu like a couple of days ago and instead of practicing the evil ryu combo I went straight into doing cr:mk::qcf::hp: fadc st:hp:… because it was a little more challenging and why not challenge myself to make the hard things easier. I can now do it 95% of the time and lol learning this was beautiful just because I’ve never seen people online get more demoralized. Because it has a lot more range than :hp: or most of his other moves it has allowed me to get beautiful punishes because people think they are safe at that distance and since they have the life lead they think they can be risky. For example some ryu whiffed a cr:mk: and on reaction I had a 400 damage punish and finished him with around 100 life left. The next round he just let me win because he just kept jumping in fishing for a trade but I didn’t let him land a single one.
Edit: I also focus attacked through a couple of midrange fireballs that should have been safe but instead led to 400 life lost.
Have made a playlist on Youtube with evil ryu matches that have been uploaded from various channels online (2011-2012) but it cant be embedded here.I leave it here in case it happens to work manually(things like that are like chinese to me)
