Hello, I have a little doubt: the OP says to plink the s.MP with s.lk, but when I do so I get
:mp::lk:
:mp:
Instead of
:lk::mp:
:mp:

Does this still count as a plink?

White text on white background fail. Anyways, yes it should still work since :mp: has priority over :lk:. Go into training mode and press :lp: and :mp: at the same time and see what your character does.

What’s the point of plinking that? More comfortable?

Apparently it’s supposed to let you combo Upkicks in case you mess up the plink and get st.LK.

WYSIWYG fail.
Regarding :mp:, it seems to do :mp: if linked to the previous move, :lk: if chained.

Didn’t rlly know where to post, this seemed like the best place so…
Ex lunge shouldn’t be used to chip On wakeup, I just backdashed out of it

Your lunge was too meaty.

did a quick search and didnt see this. Whats Yun’s best punish combos with 0, 1, or 2 meter? thx.

just want to say something quick, i know they are going to probably change yun but there is a very simple fix, just change his divekick hit-box and leave everything else as is, when i say hit-box; i’m referring to the same hit-box as rufus. A fix too help many players, and no one will be upset.

Anyone have any ideas what is good to use when you have your opponent in the corner and he keeps jumping back in the corner over and over again… this seems to stump me for some reason. I’m pretty sure Hard Dragon Kicks works well but sometimes it misses and I’ll get punished for it. any good ideas as what pokes are good when they keep jumping back and back in the corner again??

You have a few choices that you can do in this case when your opponent keeps jumping back:

One good option is to walk forward and do LK dragon kick; with this, you can follow up with genei-jin if you have the super bar, EX shoulder for the extra juggle damage (120 dmg --> 200 dmg).

Another one is to do forward jump fierce punch. From this point you can try and do a cross under to mix up your landing position, command grab on their landing to get a damaging combo, cross up shoulder, many options from here.

Hell, you can even just anti-air ultra. Just gotta keep those options open and not let anything go for free.

where i can find some kind of explanation for: cst, mp xx HK and other shortcuts?

Most of this is probably in the first post.

Meterless:
Midscreen:
Jump-in, 2MP, 2MP, 5MP xx MK/HK Dragon Kicks (there are character specific versions that do a little more damage)
FA3, HP Shoulder, HP Lunge (works off of a backdash, too, which is neat)

Corner Only:
FA3, MP/HP Palm, cl.MK, LP (/MP?) Lunge
FA3, MP/HP Palm, HK Dragon Kicks (character-specific)
FA3 xx Backdash, MP/HP Palm, LP Shoulder, HP Lunge (character-specific)
FA3 xx Backdash, MP/HP Palm, MP/HP Palm, LP Lunge (character-specific)

1 Bar:
Midscreen:
Jump-in, 2MP, cl.5MP xx EX Lunge, LP Lunge/U1 (on some characters, you’ll get 5MP instead of cl.5MP after 2MP no matter how close you are, but I can’t remember them off of the top of my head)
FA3, EX Palm, LP Shoulder, HP Lunge (midscreen only)

As for other meter combos, you can end bnbs that normally end with Dragon Kicks with EX Shoulder or EX Dragon Kicks, Follow-Up for slightly more damage, but you’re better off saving the meter for Genei Jin unless you’re absolutely sure using the EX meter will get the KO.

Also, LK Dragon Kicks (2 hits) to EX Shoulder (1 hit) doubles the amount of stun damage (150 stun -> 300 stun), which is especially nifty for Yun.

I must say, these are the most useful tactics I have ever seen for yun, thank you for posting.

Hey Yun board. I have some things I would’ve shared a lot earlier (if my account didn’t turn into a guest), but better late than never.

First off, I took the list someone had floating around with EX Lunge into Ultra 1, and realized that it was only consistent with max ranges, and decided to compose a master list of all the characters/ranges the EX Lunge into U1 actually works on.

EX Lunge into U1:

Spoiler

|Max Range:
Ryu
Ken
Gouken
Akuma
Gen
Sakura
Oni
Yun
Dhalsim
Viper
Sagat
Hakan
Yang
Evil Ryu
Guile
Zangief
Vega
Balrog % (Wasn’t on the list, but can be done at max range)
T.Hawk
Rose

|Mid Range:
Honda *
Ibuki *
Makoto *
Dudley *
Seth *
Dan *
Juri *
Chun *
Abel *
Bison *
Cammy *
Dee Jay *
Cody *
Fuerte *
Fei Long *
Adon *

|Point Blank / Combo:
Guy **
Rufus # (Can only be combod into if you do sc.mp xx ex lunge)

Has Not Worked On / Does Not Work On So Far:
Blanka

Sorry if it seems a little sloppy, and you can totally ignore the *s and #s, as they were just personal notations in notepad before ironing out all the details, so there’s nothing to worry about on that front.

Also, I searched and searched for the character specifics on double palm combos, and while I do remember seeing something somewhere on double palm character specific combos, I don’t remember it being too exact, and I couldn’t find it the second time around (I didn’t really look hard, though, sorry :()

Double Palm Combo Specifics:

Spoiler

Regular Timing:
Ryu, Ken, Ibuki, Makoto, Seth, Gen, Sakura,
Yun, Dhalsim, Abel, Viper, Bison, Sagat, Cody, Yang
E.Ryu, Guile, Vega, Fei Long, T.Hawk, Adon, Rose

Slight Delay Before First Palm:
Dudley, Gouken, Akuma, Oni
Juri, Dee Jay
Fuerte, Balrog

Regular Timing with Regular MK Kara Palm:
Chun Li, Guy, Hakan

Regular Timing with Quick MK Kara Palm:
Cammy, Dee Jay, Guy, Hakan
Balrog

Lv2 Focus > Regular Timing Palm Palm:
Gief (quick almost works; I am WILLING to bet that FALVL3 > backdash > c.hk kara palm > palm works on Gief)

Find Setups For:
Honda (cant be done because of hitbox), Dan (whiff)
Blanka (whiff), Rufus(second whiffs)

Unfortunately, on Honda, his hitbox was too big point blank for any double palm combos, and when you get the distance for the first palm to hit meaty to Honda falling down, the second palm will be too far out to connect, and there’s not enough time to kara (although I didn’t try for too long).

Also, it’s not on the list, but command grab > c.mp xx lk upkick hits Juri once and goes into ultra, although Juri is already on the list. Found it by accident.

Didn’t see it in the SRK glossary, the wiki, or here, but what are the differences between “,” “>” and “_” in - c.lp, cst.lp>lk>mp xx HK Upkicks_HP Lunge_EX Lunge and other such combos?

, denotes a link

I don’t think _ is a standard in fighting game combo nomenclature, but I’m guessing it means or.

Thanks. And “>”?

Also non-standard way of saying it’s a cancel, or more specifically, a cancel for a target combo.

cl.st.LP xx st.LK xx st.MP is Yun’s TC5 (target combo 5).

You guys have prolly seen these crazy genei jin combos…

I finally can pull off the one he uses on Oni however Oni is the only character that it seems to work on…

It seems that when I try to use it on different characters… different parts of the combo fail…

are there other crazy combos that work on different characters? Besides what kindevu has here?
