Everdred Teaches Remy

what does remy do against a sa3 necro that aims for stun combos?

play really defensive… and turtle your ass off…

“Token Question”

Token Answer… turtle your ass off

but seriously speaking after getting beaten up by mutant xp’s necro and only winning one game from casual here’s my honest idea on remy vs necro.

think about it he needs 2 combos to stun u and then your dead… he needs to be infront of u tho so just play head games with him and make him think about jumping in by randomly deciding on how u deal with him jumping forward.

he cant dash forward well enough unless he knocks u down so just keep lov’s infront of u but keep back so he cant hop over them with his flying viper move or whatever its called. just back up and pick your spot to launch a cbk or a dash foward and throw when u know when he wont be in range to catch up to u from chasing after u.

dont stay infront of him and stay out of his low throw over grab range. most important is that u keep the control and u keep the decision on when its time to be up close… when your stalling and gaining meter just run away and let the other player try to figure out which anti air u’ll pull… but of course decide not to and just run away more. just remember what he does when he responds to u being in range and then back dash away.

whoa, you’ve played mutantXP’s necro? I play him at Family Fun Aracade here in cali every once in a while…guy must get around.

Dude has a wicked strong necro.

sound advice.

so basically, be annoying…?

i think thats me. lol

you had 2 remys on your team? our first player was in the bathroom, so i had to sub and go first. sorry.

lucky me…

how can i forget isaac on the megaphone after green ken beats me with a green health bar…“id be lying if i said everyone’s a winner here today.”

oh well, good times.

ok i’m drunk enought to post…

went to cf tonight played remy and needed to warm up… so i used sean…

after that i got to play another remy… i beat him with my sean

this remy when i watched his games would play alot with cbk’s and mix ups that stemmed off from them.

when i played him… i got a streak of 7 wins and then he left

but one thing i learned fromo him is the power of a lov… its sick how much control u get once one’s on the screen.

i would throw one and it would beat his cbk… if i let him cbk in i ex rrf him, the matches were pretty one sided i think he only got a round on me.

but after that awakening and warm up sanford came along with his offer to play for money… i refused this time because i am kinda short on cash and being drunk is tied with street fighter (at the moment).

so i play him and realize his ken vs my remy is funny. we both know if he catches me he punishes me hard (HARD) but i never have to be in his face, and him running into my shit is good stuff (good enough)

i can just back up and push him back with lov’s from high priority normals the whole time. of course if he gets infront of me and i wanna do something its the old strong fierce ownage… but if i decide to solely defend against that he can only damage me with throws. this gives me the advatange.

i win the match its casual so it aint nothing special but i abuse the fact at how good remy is at running away. all u need to do is keep your health equal to or greater than your opponent and keep them away. the lov’s will do the rest of the work as long as your stopping them from jumping forward.

yo phd, what time was the tourney yesterday? I was there 12-6pm and didn’t see any signs of a tourney starting.

Yea, 5 Star, you were the one that beat our team ( I was the other Remy). You were standing next to me yesterday when I started fighting a Hugo, then you walked away.

The most wins I got yesterday was 12 in a row, which is good for me at FFA, the most i’ve ever gotten is 22. Everytime I play I feel I learn something new, a technique, or just something simple like all the different ways to connect specials. When I met phd he said my style of play was too agressive…I’m still not sure what that means, but it works.

I’ve been reading this thread for some time, just never bothered posting. It’s nice to know there are a few others out there who also use Remy on a regular basis.

we got 5 star posting here i wonder who else reads this stuff

not dissin remy or anything guys, but what i do against remy is just parry that shit from full screen. then i win by chipping him and letting him run away. ggpo

yes marvel boy… why dont u put the difficulty up in the options menu then play! +)

i wish ppl who knew about 3S would post instead of scrubs who play the cpu and copy off of jap vids…

god if i was a mod i would ban ppl left and right for just posting lame shit like this i hate how they let any dumbass post.

whoa chill man, i can own the computer with the difficulty on the highest level, its just that playing a person that throw LOVS all the time dont get anywhere. at near range though LOVS can be unpredictable. but what should remy do other than throw LOVS?

if u read the thread u wouldnt look like a dumbass

Get the fuck out of here! Seriously, get the fuck out of here!

play Ken

K i read the first 2 pages and it seems remy cant do anything besides runaway and throw lovs that get parried…

i play yun ken sean and q, naysay

Hmmm Remy biggest weapon is the lov factor the same as other chars that abuse certain moves like Yun with his dive kick for example. The point is Remy strategy stars with lovs and ends in lov because that what helps him zone in and out. Sure some people would stay all day in the corner trowing lov but others would do diferent tactics. I for one find playing with Rwmy boring if u stick to the wall and trow lov all days but if I see that stratehy will change the outcome of the battle I would do so. A lot of people that say “Oh I would parry that shit down” learn the hard way that isn’t that easy to do if u become annoying defensivly and offesively.

mutanthp: Hi. Are you there?
Douglas Haig: hello
mutanthp: sup everdred its mutant
Douglas Haig: sup sup
mutanthp: just wanted to say ggs a couple weeks ago
Douglas Haig: yea i wish i did better
mutanthp: its ok
Douglas Haig: more ppl need to visit ny
mutanthp: yeah i like it there i might be going back this summer
mutanthp: tell me where to get drunk in brooklyn
Douglas Haig: hahaha u got lots of bars
Douglas Haig: u here now?
mutanthp: no im back in cali
Douglas Haig: ohhh
mutanthp: but i might go back this summer
Douglas Haig: kool
mutanthp: that hugo guy is mad funny
10:20PM
Douglas Haig: haha yea…
Douglas Haig: lol
Douglas Haig: its funny when i turtle against him
Douglas Haig: cus i watch his face everytime i hit him
mutanthp: heh
Douglas Haig: ahhh remy… so fun
mutanthp: he was talking to me and he was like "man i want to play your necro!"
Douglas Haig: lol
mutanthp: and i said "ok but necro is a bad matchup for hugo"
Douglas Haig: what isnt a bad match up for hugo?
mutanthp: and he looked at me sideways and he was like “what?” and gave me this srk strat thread like post about frame data and blah blah blah about how hugo beats necro
mutanthp: then first time i play him i perfect him
mutanthp: lol
Douglas Haig: haha
Douglas Haig: so any pointers?
10:25PM
mutanthp: uh turtle more charge partition more
mutanthp: and use super 2
Douglas Haig: tru
mutanthp: the game is so simple
Douglas Haig: yea
mutanthp: what hurts remy is that he has no low hit confirm
mutanthp: if he did he would be upper mid tier
Douglas Haig: yea
mutanthp: unless you learn to hit confirm c.short
Douglas Haig: thats why i use sa1
Douglas Haig: random cr short into sa1
mutanthp: oh and when you hit someone with c.firece
mutanthp: do that dive kick first then flash kick
10:30PM
Douglas Haig: yea! see i always chicken out on that but i’ll make sure to go for them more often
mutanthp: it takes more damage and it pushes them in the corner where you ultimately want them to be
Douglas Haig: tru
mutanthp: and store charge after each hit flash kick
mutanthp: that way you can push opponents in the corner with sonic booms
Douglas Haig: yea
mutanthp: like hit them with the flash kick
mutanthp: dash once or twice
mutanthp: depending on how long you charged
mutanthp: and start doing some LOVs
Douglas Haig: ya
Douglas Haig: cool info
mutanthp: thats how closet plays me and other people
Douglas Haig: i’m copy pasting this shit online
Douglas Haig: that ok with u?
mutanthp: lol
mutanthp: you can just say its your shit
mutanthp: i dont care
Douglas Haig: nah never mind too lazy
mutanthp: cos i know i didnt come up with it
mutanthp: lol
mutanthp: i like how they gave remy a useless overhead
mutanthp: that toward forward or whatever button it is
Douglas Haig: nah its good sometimes…
Douglas Haig: i use it to move forward
mutanthp: its good for whiffing on wake up to get in range of kara throw
Douglas Haig: hmmmmm…
mutanthp: then you can mix it up either kara throw or 2 x c.jab super or get them to whiff grab c.short super
Douglas Haig: this is all going online i hope u know this
mutanthp: lol
10:35PM
mutanthp: hey you know what my favorite combo with remy is?
Douglas Haig: what/
Douglas Haig: ?
mutanthp: jumping roundhouse, standing fierce, ex flash kick
mutanthp: takes so much stun
mutanthp: jumping firece is a little better but its harder to land on people
Douglas Haig: i’ve only stunned an opponent once with remy my entire time playing him
Douglas Haig: if remy did 1.5 times more stun normally he would be pretty nasty
Douglas Haig: or at least let him store up his taunts…
mutanthp: yeah
mutanthp: kara taunt owns
mutanthp: lol
Douglas Haig: o yeah…
Douglas Haig: u can get away with a taunt if u land sa1 from an anti air
10:40PM
mutanthp: just be patient you have to play really efficiently to win with remy
mutanthp: he’s a slow character like as in he doesnt move fast or play fast so you have time to think during matches when you play with him
Douglas Haig: yea
Douglas Haig: i always mess up on wake up
Douglas Haig: thats what kills me
mutanthp: you can low forward reversal with remy’s sa2
mutanthp: its sick
10:45PM
Douglas Haig: for reals?
mutanthp: uh huh
mutanthp: 2x c.shorts and a c.forward
mutanthp: thats the distance
mutanthp: cant do it off max range
Douglas Haig: see only time that shit matters is when i play sanford or anyone better than him
Douglas Haig: namely justin/flash/eddie/henry
Douglas Haig: i barely see those dudes anymore
Douglas Haig: they rarily play
Douglas Haig: ok posting this convo up
mutanthp: lol
Douglas Haig: thank u for the info
mutanthp: no problem

What is it about remy that makes people doubt his capabilities?

my guess is because they dont…BELEIVE!

thanks for the post, EVERDRED. One question about the low forward reversal, actually two:

first off, i’ve never seen the term reversal been used in that way before, throws me off a bit. it’s not the word that pops up in your corner when you RRF someone at the moment of wakeup, so is it just a general term for getting the super out at the moment a normal move recovers? just trying to be informed.

secondly, do you input the SA2 joystick motions as the low forward is recovering and then just wait for them to overreact in your favor before tapping the kicks? If so, this is pretty much the same idea if it was substituted with standing mk, judging by one of your posts in an earlier remy_stryker thread, isnt it? If not, wouldn’t it still require the same kind of intuitiveness in deciding whether or not someone will in fact overreact in your favor as with the standing mk version?

iwst99:
next time show up 3 and a half hours later than when they say its gunna start. they posted it would start “2-3ish”…it started about 6:15. i barely got there at 6:10, and got matched up with 2 guys who needed a third. it was 3v3 teams, double elim., i think 6 teams total. we were pretty much newbs to tournament play amongst mostly hardcore FFA veterans, and i doubt taken seriously (mainly cuz there was a remy on our team…imagine, TWO remys!). i think we did better than everyone thought we would.

memorable moments: lets see, getting raped by josh’s chun and mike z’s makoto. didn’t have to play 5 star’s team this time.
these are the teams we played:

1st team:
shogo-(YU)
ken i-(YA)
nate-(IB)

2nd team:
dario-(KE)
mike z-(MA)
???-(KE)

3rd team:
we all got taken out by josh’s chun, but if one of us managed to win we’d have to play franki3s or pyrolee.

good times though.

are you mr boomerrang man?

apparently yes. thats what i heard people calling me outside…around the time everyone was placing bets…from the sound of it, boomerrang man brings down your odds when you lose to him.
