One thing Remy definitely does NOT have going for him is quick forward movement; i.e., walks like Lurch or Testament from Guilty Gear, long-winded dash…two dashes gets you across a full screen, leaving you vulnerable in the last dash to sweeps or dragon punches following parried LOVs. Of course, you can always just do the one dash, wait for a reaction, poke/LOV, continue on.
Along with walking and dashing, he has forward mk and UOH at his disposal; both of which can be used along with or without dashing to partition RRFs and LOVs. Use them to make it look like you’re closing in, or to repostition yourself from a “safe” distance.
Using forward mk is risky and case-sensitive at best, which is why you will never hear anyone, including myself, recommending its use as an attack. A useful note-to-self, however: The distance traveled and time taken to complete a forward mk is nearly the same as his regular movement forward or backward. That’s why a down/back tap > forward mk > LOV or RRF works.
UOH doesn’t move him very far distance-wise, maybe a half pace or so. That’s why two UOHs will partition one LOV or RRF.
i downloaded sthe “advanced remy” vid and its cool…but im wnt more so i can learn some new more things…can you guys give some sites for downloading cool remy vids?i know lots of you already have them…
i’m going to try and make it to the 8 on break tourny on sunday so hopefully they’ll have camera footage of my low tier remy doing pit pat damage/running away/and throwing mad shit (hopefully in that order repeatadly).
what is remys super is choice i cant decide between sa1 or 2.
sa1 is short so i can get it a little faster than sa2 and it recovers fast but its weak and short means not as much ex
sa2 is long which means more ex and does more damage but its long and the opponent can punish if blocked
and they both fit my style of playing
Well I mostly use SA2 never liked SA1 but if u are a ex junkie like me then I suggest SA1 but if u like to be safe and keep ur enemy at bay use SA1. I suggest to change ur SA when u enconter diefrent char like Hugo it be wisely to use SA1(even so I still use SA2) or use SA2 against Necro.
strong is a good one to use whenever. but roundhouse i dont use as much because it requires u to be far away enough so the far roundhouse version comes out. if your too close the close roundhouse animation get’s canceled and that doesnt move u forward at all and u end up whiffing a throw.
strong button when kara’d doesnt matter which version u use (close or far) it always moves u forward.
Looks very casual. cr. lk xx SA1, nice! cr. lk, st. mk? Seems to work nicely. You jumped in alot too, I noticed. You had a chance for cr. hp, lk cbk, rrf, but you didn’t go for it?? An okay match. You played really aggressive o_O!!
i should have ran away more.
yea cr short to st forward is alternated with cr short, kara throw.
missed my sa1 anti air i really needed that super to hit, makoto falls wierd.
my overheads really messed me up. maybe i should do them from farther away or do kara overheads
you definitely got robbed on the last round. you dashed back plenty. only saw u get command grabbed 4 times, one was when ur were already stunned. it was like the other guy had no game.
maybe at the end of the last round u could have backed up a little. wait, screw that. you’ve got a wicked wake up game:tup:…you got robbed. the end.
“cr. lk xx SA1, nice!” nice timing. the dash in landed as the tech roll was in its closing animation. you’ve got a wicked wake up game Ever:tup:
i was just afraid of a sa2 over a low lov. also i tried to stay mid screen and back away so the makoto player didnt have his back to the wall so he can karakusa to sa2
i messed up once when i went to grab and a lov came out instead. other than that pretty ok match.
I was suprised the other guy didnt SA2 over your LOVs too, or fake a throw/command grab on wake up and SA2.
Instead he chose to whore those fierce sweep punches and low pokes at close range like they were going out of style the next morning…
Have you guys seen those remy vids on the carol site yet? The ones i were able to download were against hugo, chun, and yun. There’s more vids of the same guy but they kept freezing up on me when i played them.
yea i didnt want to start expecting the low pokes and stay infront of him to parry because i didnt want to deal with him being in grab range. i think i only elected to parry once for his low pokes. i countered with a strong but i should of st fierce it from farther away.
