Laugh,I haven’t spoken to you in about 4 years. I doubt you remember our convo, but I recently came across etokki. Ordered an inpin and now I’m back into fighting games. I had to register to SRK over again though. Guess its been that long
Edit; I took the same 4 dollar route. Took 5 days to reach NYC
Sup Nick,I remember learning blankas electric RC from you lol.
Hey Laugh, could you please tell me the differences between a Taeyoung shaft and a Myoungshin shaft (other than the slight difference in knob dimensions); I ask because I wanted to know if they were interchangeable. Just as well I wanted to know if the grommets between both “T” & “M” models were interchangeable.
Hi Ryan, just got my package from our PO here. I believe it was already here even before Friday last week (it is EMS after all). Had to wait for our PO to give me a notice for the parcel for me to claim - fortunately, our local post office have non-corrupt customs officers lol
Looking forward to getting more stuff from Etokki Hope you could get custom PCBs like MC Cthulhu (though the Paewang PCB is okay, but MCC is technically solderless when installed for PS3 gaming). Once again - thanks a lot
Fantastick! (get it?) Good to know. I just got my order in today; the packaging was impeccable and the delivery was super quick. Couldn’t be happier, thanks again.
Hey Ryan! Just thought I’d let you know I received the replacement Crown buttons last week! Now I’ll need to order another stick to have 2 Korean sticks
ps - is there anywhere with an official layout of a Korean Cabinet? I’ve seen one on these forums but just wondering if there is something more up to date.
Hey laugh those microswitches you sell individually work w/ Myungshin fanta’s too right? (Misc parts?)) Cuz I realized I’m gonna need some cuz I’ve never replaced mine and I’ve been using that particular joystick for about two years.
Hell it oughta work since Taeyoung’s are looking like carbon copies of Myungshin these days.
Hey laugh,
I was browsing through some Korean sites and came across this beauty: Welcome to Joytron.
It looks nice and comfy and is also slightly slanted. Do you have any information about the quality of this stick and if it’s as easy to mod as the Korean sticks you have in store? Also is there a chance of buying it from you? I’ve check couple of your threads and your shop but I couldn’t find any mention of it.
oh wow…If Laugh has yet to mention it to us then I seriously question its legitimacy. Or perhaps it’s new. Either way I like how the joystick in the damn diagram looks more korean than the actual product. Overall it’s looks janky as fuck and 8 buttons is too much for some. 10 (12, really) is just…
Here is the 2P setup with the Crown stick and C203C buttons! Overall the buttons where pretty popular but most players couldnt get used to the stick. I’m not sure it put it together correctly or if its the rubber gromet, but there are times when you completey hit the edges of the stick and it gets a little ‘stuck’. I’m going to look at it again and make sure I put it together properly. After playing with all the sticks though, I found that I could execute pretty well with all the sticks, except the stock JLF, still have probs with QCB into SRK motions with it. American and Korean 2-Player control panel
I think I’ll have to try the Fanta’s now and see how they play
I played on a korean sfIV (with ae in it) cab yesterday. It had a “crown” battop that felt like it had a rubber centering grommet as a pivot. circular gate. Which model would this be? Since this is the only ae cab I know of on this island, I’m thinking I might get one of those crown sticks so I can familiarize myself with it at home. Either that or convince the arcade to switch the tekken 6 sanwa stuff out of the cabs next to it! The cab also had concave buttons that looked sub-30mm.
You can be sure that it used rubber. All korean joystick models (that I’m familiar with) have circular restriction, but not due to a gate of any sort. If you look closely that black knob-like formation coming out the top of the mounting plate is actually what keeps it circular. Crown is generally the stock joystick used in cabs but for custom jobs (and tekken machines, I suppose) I think most ppl use Myungshin Fantas. That or Taeyoung. I honestly believe that Crown is the least popular maker of Korean sticks but they certainly get their money on the buttons.
