Just wanted to give people a heads up, since I got my stick today. I believe the PCB in the stick is the Brook PS3/PS4 Fighting Board (and not the Universal Fighting Board). I just tried to update the firmware, and the Universal Fighting Board firmware update failed.
Photos?! I was actually going to order one of these but I was waiting for a question to be answered from them via e-mail, and by the time I got my answer I missed the pre-order by about an hour!
On the Omni product page it lists “Elegant new box design” as a rev.6 feature. I can’t see any difference when looking at hte product image, but for all i know it could be the same old picture used for rev.5.
I’m currently modding my rev.5 stick. Started by covering the interior with adhesive sound dampening foam pads, which helped reduce the slightly hollow sound and reducing the noise from the stick and buttons. Also looking into using something like the neutrik plug for external cable attachment/detachment. If anyone has done i mod like this i would be glad to hear about how it went.
EDIT: Just checked my tweet back and here is what Laugh said: “There’s a decent chance, depending the feasibility and demand from fans.
Let us know and put us to work!”
Old thread along w an even older player who wants to find his way back to the scene.
I found my old Mas stick that I used on PS2 along w the inpin I got from Laugh to convert it to the PS3. Both still work great after years of storage.
My question is: Can anyone verify if the inpin will work with the PS4? I can’t see why not, but since I don’t have a PS4 to test, I crawl back here for some insight.
In theory it should in legacy mode on SFV as long as you sync it with a PS4 controller. If you’re just playing at home it’s whatever. If you’re going to a tournament they typically disallow legacy mode.
It’ll also work with a Brook PS3->PS4 converter but I dunno how much lag that’ll add. You could actually get a Brook PS2->PS4 converter as well.
I can’t seem to figure out how to make the Etokki Omni use the front row of buttons. It has 4 of them and 3 of them don’t do anything in SFV.
Only the Options/Start button works.
I really need to be able to reset the training mode positions and such in SFV to train effectively.
How do I perform these tasks with this arcade stick?
I tried the “Emulate function” on this page and it is completely useless. All I succeeded in doing was making the lever act as the right analogue stick which of course does absolutely nothing.
@Hassun If you have the latest firmware from Brook you can put the controller into PS4 mode by holding 2P (Y / Triangle button) when you plug in the USB. This will allow you to assign the home and touchpad buttons. I believe you have to do this every time you plug in the controller or after you restart your computer.
Edit: Just tried it, doesn’t work. I cannot assign any of the front buttons on the Etokki to the “push in the analogue stick” function even when I hold down the Y/Triange button while plugging in the stick.
I guess I just learned a $300 lesson to never get an arcade stick that doesn’t have dedicated L3/R3 buttons.
@Hassun It should work when configuring your controller in Street Fighter V (see picture). Have you updated your firmware using the PS3PS4 Fighting Board product downloaded from here? When you set the Omni stick to PS4 mode your controller should show up as a “PS4 Wired Gamepad” under “Devices and Printers” in Control Panel.
Ok so I recently purchased an omni korean stick, I’ve always wanted to try Fanta lever, and transitioning from Sanwa lever, I find it refreshing and compatible even when i play non-tekken games, such as gg and sf.
However, there are a few issues as of now:
A friend with sweaty palms used my stick, and somehow sweat managed to get under the clear panel, which bugs me. Short solution is to not allow those with sweaty palms to use the stick (fortunately im not), or even taking off the panel completely (i did this for now)… wonder how you guys dealt with this
First time opening the stick (to remove the clear panel), I find one of the screws easily damaged when I tried to unscrew it, I dont feel like screwin it back again or i might have problems unscrewing it again in the future. I guess I can buy a lot of spare screws to solve this?
Will it cause any issue like rust etc if I decided to not use the clear panel at all from now on?
Hey there, I just bought an Omni second-hand, and unfortunately one of the rubber feet on the bottom is missing! Anybody know where to get replacement rubber feet?
