Playing someone in casuals rather than tournament is completely different lol. There’s no justice in beating someone when it’s worth nothing. If i’m not in Ottawa for the weekend ill be there for AE.
I think if 2 people or teams facing off against eachother are really trying regardless of skill level then it doesn’t really matter what’s at stakes because they’d play the same way no matter what.
Of course winning Evo is different than winning a local tournament but I’m pretty sure everyone usually looks to win,
at least I’d hope so lol.
Playing in casuals compared to tourney is a whole different ball game. Not everyone can handle the pressure…
pressure definitely takes a toll on players specifically those who are accustomed to playing casually. Once everyone can find their unique comfort zone then hopefully the mentality of the match will at least be even. Thus, making the efforts equally worth while.

it really comes down to what an individual values. Some play for money = tangible assets, others may play for intangible gains such as experience, winning or something unique for themselves.
A lot of people who I’v had interviews with and talked too always care for the how they played throughout a game, people they meet or having some type of credibility next to them.
Money is a shallow goal cuz there ain’t enough of it. That’s especially true in the current e-gaming world

when something is on the line especially people hard earn money, its only natural they play different then their casual play.
I have little experience in tournaments for marvel/sf4 but not other games. I’ve done money matches since art of fighting lol.
but just quick to the point, you need to understand what I’m saying. Money/Tournaments is not the only factor that changes gameplay. Thinking this is quite limited. I went against another team in smash the other day and we cared a lot more about what was happening that any amount of money could add up. I’v been doing this for over 10 years and money is nothing but adding spice to the real effect.
Speaking for myself, I only gamble/play with money that I’m willing to lose and not the opposite way around so financially it doesn’t really matter what happens in a match for me.
Btw, was that grand yours or collective with everyone?

actually i dont know who you are. all i know about you is that white_r made a comment about you on stream and you overreacted. i only made that bullseye comment because on this page alone, everyone seems to want a piece of you. i will be at that tournament and if we end up playing each other, may the better player win. but other than that do ME a favor dont talk to me.
