Well this might not be the case anymore, if they prove that he was dead at the scene but say that they acted the way they did to prevent a riot the EMTs may be completely exempt of any charges, which would be fair. It would only be the officers involved that would face charges.
Idunno…acting to prevent a riot would have been pretending to check vitals and pretend the guy was just unconscious instead of standing around like frightened deer. They could have always said he died in transit to the hospital. If anything, how it went down should have started a riot, so there goes THAT excuse.
I read a short story by Paul Difillpo about a cop some 60 or so years in the future. Said cop reported to work, took his mandated “primer” injection (a cocktail that increased aggressive tendencies, strength, and sped up reaction times), and went on his beat. He made a mention of how excessive force rulings were a thing of the past considering how dangerous police work had become. He completed his day, took his “cooldown” (another injection that leveled out his stats back to normal, mandatory after a few cops went home and killed their wives), and went home. Up to 20-25% of officers in some areas (mainly urban) use steroids, considering it “leveling the playing field”…could steroid aggression have played a part in this? Are they the modern-day “primer” for cops?
What police, and any government in general, fail to understand is that by taking such a hardline stance like they do. They encourage people to get more and more aggressive. So police do this to themselves, and then wonder why the community doesn’t comply. IF these “incidents” where to continue, but the police higher ups, or the “courts” alone, where to start prosecuting these crimes people wouldn’t respond so negatively to the police.
Fuck that, They should have started a riot, I eagerly await the day that we as American citizens stop letting each other be victimized by these fucking uniformed gang bangers. I want to see police tied behind trucks and dragged to death, Hung from light posts and beaten like a pinata, Executed in the streets like the trash they are.
I’m sick of DAILY reading new stories of cops who take the little bit of power given, Completely abuse it and get away with it just because they wear a badge. How the fuck have we as a nation become so complacent as to let ourselves be victimized by our so called protectors?
And no, I’m not saying every LEO is a scum bag, but enough are that it’s an issue.
Learn the constitution, Learn your state laws, Always carry a camera and be prepared to protect yourself.
Riots never work, LA, Watts, Detroit etc just ends up the people who feel victimized burn down their own neighborhoods and cause subsequent injuries and deaths to themselves
Even if the general public was able to overthrow the cops then the national guard comes in and martial law is issued then all hell breaks loose. Best way to combat this shit is exposure and demands for justice, like thousands daily and make these imbeciles think twice about abusing their power because someone will be recording, people will go crazy, it’all be on all the new and I’m fucked
Only reason this continues because they don’t think they’ll see punishment, partly because of this culture of silence in law enforcement
Sad but true. It does make me happy that the horrible things police do to people is finally coming to light. Yet it enrages me that nothing has really changed.
Some cops in major cities are now forced to wear cameras but it hasn’t changed anything. I recall a story recently of a LEO who had numerous reports against him by his victims yet nothing could be proven because, surprise surprise, his camera had a history of malfunctioning. How convenient.
