Empire Arcadia vs. ECC8 war journal

Truly a classic battle, instant information vs stealth and patience… who will win, only time will tell!!! Lets have fun with it while it lasts…

One person working would probably not be able to send people everywhere. Companies are paying for people to go to expensive shit all the time, a coach plane ticket with a $10 entry fee SF tourney and a motel 6 doesn’t sound like a huge buisness expense, especially when it gets written off in the end anyway. I don’t see them flying to every tourney under the sun, UCLA, MWC, EVO is all i can think of + Ricky to ECC. Lets guesstimate the cost here, i’m doing this on the fly so it may not be perfect

I will assume that the empire has 6 members (DSP’s list of Sanford,Justin,Jeron,Blue J(who is that anyway),Flash) + Sabin now has the avatar so lets count him.

6 tickets to ONT airport from IAD (i chose dulles since it was already in my browser window =P) = $1539
2 hotel rooms (being generous) * 3 nights (avg 100 night) = $600
Entry fees for 6 people in 3 games each = $180
$50 spending money for each player = $300

We are not factoring in corporate discounts or anything like that either. each cost will vary slightly but i think that is a fair estimate

so that’s $2619 total per each tourney all the Empire member goes to. 3 tourneys = 7857

For the sake of being complete lets send ricky to ECC and round off. $8300

Now this $8300 is for a year of tournaments, which breaks down to $700 a month. How are we going to get $700 a month.

Lets assume the fort is a place of buisness, and the 6 EC members of the empire work there, they each have to ‘contribute’ $120 a month to the fund in some way.

Lets also assume 20 avg working days in a month, which means $6/per person/per day they work must be generated.

So with all this, i present FMJ’s Build your own empire guide:

Own/run a store.

Calclulate the rate you would pay your employees, subtract $1, thats what you actually pay them.

Hire 6 SF players to work there, and set up arcade cabinets/gaming tables they can play on for free. A lot of people have cabs at home anyway, doesn’t seem like a stretch. And who wouldn’t want to work at a place where you can play for free even if its $1 less/hr (the cost of 2 arcade games).

Take the $1 you subtracted, and put it in the tournament fund.

Invest in some T-shirts with your logo.

Congratulations, you now have your own gaming group, if you keep the pot in an interest bearing account it should replace itself easily every year.

I was just pissed off from everyone assuming the only way to make things happen is to deal drugs or something. Really how TFGM does it is out of our hands, i just wanted to point out that you don’t need a miracle to do what they’ve done already. This also doesn’t count the fact that MWC is probably cheaper than evo, that every empire member won’t go to every tourney, etc…etc…

holy shit darksydephil beat empire’s top players? damn wtf is the world coming too? haha j/k. good job for team empire doing their best and darksydephil for winning in the end. btw i dunno why everyone hates the empire so much. you guys should just let them do what they do. No need to waste time arguing. I guess they are allowed to say what they can since they have some of the top players in the world. so yeah its cool, i respect you guys for doing whatever you guys do even though I dont really understand the main purpose. You guys can invest however much you want but you wont rule in ALL games cept for maybe mvc1(arturo),mvc2(jwo),alpha3(ricky),cvs2(ricky). hehe thats quite alot. but there will always be better players out there… i think… anyways this post is really pointless and a waste of time (this goes to everyone out there also). soooo…Good luck to the Empire and their domination. You are still being uber-vague about what The Empire does exactly. With the analogy that you gave me in regards to what The Empire is all about, we can be easily transplant this thought process to the motivation behind this very website “an organization of gamers who enjoy videogaming and socializing with other gamers male and female” just as you said it. That was one of my initial goals with ECC and my new project, Impact.

I’ve also heard other rumors regarding gaming companies funding this as a pet project for possible sponsorship of gamers and tournaments in the future - if you could clarify the validity of these rumors it would be good for the community to know, since getting corporations to get into the mix of tournament organization would certainly help bury some of the burden tournament organizers like myself have had to deal with.

If you wish to speak further outside of the SRK limelight, feel free to PM or email me. There has to be more that you can explain.

Your probably one of the most wise individuals on this site. Although your not on mark with what you are saying you have some points that are on deck and is true then the rest is speculation. However overall you have the giest of how the Empire “COULD” run. I am not saying that we don’t do it that way, but at the same time I am not saying that we are not. However you all should read what this guy wrote and let that be the general statement of how the Empire runs…something like that anyway. Heh there are some other things involved, but who cares.
