I think Crenshaw is a perfect example of an otherwise reasonable conservative who gets caught up in Trumps bullshit

Yo… The very first example she uses is her putting words in his mouth.

She says Crenshaw “said masks DO NOT help prevent the spread of COVID-19”

What he said was masked don’t help protects YOU against the corona virus. Which, to my understanding, is mostly true. Masks are suppose to stop the spread of corona virus, and wearing one protect the people around you more than it protects yourself.

Also, that was from March 7th, which was the height of the PPE shortage, so he said that they are for healthcare workers. He’s making a point that healthcare workers needed those masks in March, and he didn’t want the general population hoarding or keeping these masks away from people that really needed them.

Seems a little unfair of Ladjevardian to go in like that.

Also at the time Fauci was saying not to wear masks. It was general protocol. Can’t knock him on that one. The others tho…

I thought they were referring to N95+ rated PPE at that point, which there was a shortage of. When worn properly, those types of masks may have a better shot of filtering out small particles, but it requires training to wear them properly.

A lot of the other examples she used were of Crenshaw being irresponsible with information and in his conduct, but she shots herself in the foot by leading off with a misleading example, and misquoting him.

The guy said that Covid was handled in may and was taking pictures hugging constituents maskless in April and May. Maybe just have 15 examples and leave the one that makes you look stupid on the cutting room floor.

On March 7th, he totally was.

I wasn’t aware that my opinion was needed here. You got anything on this idea that BLM protests are somehow able to lower the number of covid cases? It sounds like we’re going in two different directions at once here. To me you can’t just say that protesting will spread the virus, but also that protests have helped curbed the spread. The two don’t fit in the same sentence.

You say the magic words “Black Lives Matter” while protesting and it protects you.

You know, like people say God will protect them.

Protests happened for haircuts and the police situation. One group didn’t fight the idea of wearing masks though.

Also the protests(ill advised and downplayed in seriousness due to CoVid) really has nothing to do with Trump continually saying CoVid isn’t a problem, it’s going away, it’s under control and only 1% fatality.

Legit everything he’s been saying about the virus in his rallies and talks is bullshit. Not to mention he keeps saying mask aren’t needed.

Being white and armed lets you demand haircuts and rush the homes of government officials.

Protected cause of whiteness. :upside_down_face:

That’s the key word.

Well, not the government officials part. That seems to be a thing regardless.

If anything, black folks are suffering more bc of lack of hairstylists being open.

I mean look at poor Trick Daddy. It looks like his hair was cut by a spoon.

Nah, I’m sure it was the white part. Cause they were less than civil, armed and angry. Yet police handled them with kid gloves.
