I thought the whole point of wearing masks was to stop yourself from spreading it to other people. All this silly rule is doing is making people safer from white people carrying it, but not safer from non-whites carrying it? That shit doesn’t make any sense at all.

Basically uc schools are the most inclusive and have a student body who got there based on merit and grades

UC admits largest and most diverse class ever of Californian freshmen

Black students being there at 5% is not on the school it is on the number of black students applying

Just in case some people say shit. The rate at which black students finish college is lower. And as is college prep.

People want to say asians are “cheating” by doing college prep and studying all the time.

But nah.

Going colorblind in school and business is how we have had minorities become successful despite societal hurdles

When people put in work they reap rewards.

But people will use black people lagging behind as an excuse.

This is unfair to everybody except those in positioms or power who would now be able exclude those they never wanted

The thing is that it makes it fair. This repeal 209 forces bullshit like race and sex becoming factors in success

The uc schools want to repeal, but prop 209 has lead to more minorities and a rise in black college graduates.

This is bullshit. Asians get into a uc school based on merit not paying off the rowing coach.

Again though people want to say poor black people have no means. It just sounds racist. We have poor asians, blacks, whites, and latinos who put in the extra work in studying to get to that level.

If there is a problem with college prep it is due to the schools those kids attend who put zero emphasis that college is harder, you need to work to suceed, etc

Saying it is unfair that the student body of a uc has less students of color because they were not given the same opportunity is bs

It is race conscious financial aid and community reach out

I remember a lot of my classmates being from poor families like me. And wanting to succeed

So why are we catering specifically to black people? The only barrier to getting into a uc is grades.

Why do people have an issue with that? A lot of guys suck in high school but kill the game in community college before transferring to a cal state or uc. Or any of the private colleges

I know a lot of black people who came from compton and became nurses or doctors.

Maybe black people are actually catching up

Why do black students quit university more often than their white peers?

Then i read this. I feel like dorming is stupid if you can stay home and go to school that is cool. Go to a community College get your credits then transfer to finish your bs

This is why we have so many young kids in tremendous debt.

Fuck that like my parents did for me. I will support my kid until they can go out and succeed on their own.

People are not really looking at why that population is not choosing college

How do we change this? Throw a lot of money at inner-city schools to fund them enough and give students the safe space and opportunity to grow and succeed

We need to go into those communities and improve tje culture

Because change at the college does not change that community with the lacking population.

Give people the opportunity and tools to grow.
