This comes a bit late, since the discussion has moved on, but I have seen with my own eyes the effect of pollution on climate change last year when I went to China and it’s dreadful. I was in Hangzhou and the whole place looked downright dystopic. Not the cool, neon lights, way either… The air is literally unbreathable (and I live in highest polluted city for my country’s level). The weather changes on a whim. You can’t see THE SKY from the smog.
Funny story too, a huge rainfall caught me while out buying souvenir about 20 minutes away from my hotel. By the time I arrived I was soaking wet and it was my second to last day there. I had no change of pants and next day I still had a closing meeting… so I started drying the pants with the dryer and the iron… but the point is, the steam forming from the rainwater there had an unnaturally grey color and a horrible smell. All that bad stuff… that’s in the soil, in the people… not just the atmosphere.
Take it from someone who hates that Greta bitch and thinks virtue signaling about climate change is some of the worst stuff of the modern age (since it doesn’t seem to be about climate at all, but promoting certain industries, as most alternatives are shunned, just my two cents)… and also someone who used to scoff at the phrase “China is the most polluted country in the world”… this shit is bad fam.

That’s a a hell of a story.
China is very dystopic in general I think and I believe we’ve way more to worry about from them than Iran and Russia combined. I saw a documentary on how some factory near a small village in rural China polluted the nearby River so badly that about half of the town’s population died, and when the town took the company to court, the company reimbursed the family members to the equivalent of about 250 US dollars for the deaths. Disgusting. They showed the water, and it was all that weird creamy reddish brown color from the pollution.
