Fajita Buster and Tortilla getting a Stun boost would be great.
EX Q-Bomb does MASSIVE stun on counter hit actually
Yes. exactly what Ive been preaching. Fajita Buster can be ducked and jumped AND does not have the going up invincibility of Tostada press I hate going for it and having my opponent duck and then eat combo.
I think giving it a shorter charge would be better, but then again in retrospect lets look at the three kicks:
:lk: we need it for teching, throws, air throw and the all important guac
:mk: cr MK is a great normal, forward + mk is corpse hop, an overhead, a leadoff for one of our few block strings, and has two of our options to super. yeah we need this.
:hk: Dropkick hits twice vs a lot of people’s FA, goes over fireballs and owns Blanka Balls, Psycho Crushers, Headbutts, hits over head, and places enemy in juggle state if hit in air. Close HK is part of our basic punish (guac) and can be combo’d into Tostada for an interesting method of switching sides, and into Super the slide is also very good.
So yeah, you can see now even more reason why Q-Bomb is not used, and why switching to command input would be superior. this would allow each :k: to have different properties, example: :lk: would have fast start up. no knockdown, MK version has blockstun/hitstun for FADC setups. HK knocks down, starts up like full charge Q-Bomb, longer recovery. This would give us that counter move vs horizontal attacks.
This I think would make Fuerte’s game against turtles stronger.
Maybe they should just make it so that he STOPS when he hits the wall ala :lp: or at least allow :lp: to be pressed when he’s switching from back to forward.
I still dont think he needs health. if he gets the above and below he wont need it.
:lk: guac is a meter builder, an escape, and anti air etc. same with HK and EX, MK has no real use. Why not make it go farther Horizontally? This would fix Fuerte’s biggest problems, a wakeup option, and something against Jump back spammers
FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD PLEASE MAKE HIS BACK DASH GO SOMEWHERE!!! It’s useless. His forward run :lk: goes back farther.
I agree Fajita needs extra damage AND stun, it should be THE move to fear, other than RSF. But I think tortilla is fine as it is right now, any extra boast to stun and it might make it overpowered, it is relatively safe and has a lot of uses, so more stun would make it too good.
Agreed, the way it is right now almost seems like a bug, there is just no purpose on why the stop command won’t register as fuerte runs from back to forward.
Very good point, this is going to improve Fuerte in a fair way, and add to his mixup game without overpowering him.
Increasing Fuerte’s Damage output on some of his tools to make them feared solves most of his problems, as it would set up the rest of his game.
As for 2nd ultra- to borrow from SNK, Vice in KOF98 had a DM similar to Fuerte’s ultra (but a lot shittier). It was improved by giving her a new DM in ultimate match with similar frames, but was an anti-air grab. Maybe make it dcb*2+KKK. That would be pretty scary- might even be FADC-able as well.
ok i’ve been reading over all these qbomb input suggestions, and the fact of the matter is that the qbomb would be broken if it’s made into an input. it’s like giving him a blanka ball, with an input motion instead. if the command for the qbomb were to change, it’d have to be a back charge, ie a real blanka ball. it would be just as useful as alex’s slash elbow in 3s.
yes change the fucking run, mk. completely useless. and more damage to the fajita buster is good too. either that or make the recovery faster than the splash.
You’re right about Tortilla, it’s just fine the way it is. I still think Fajita needs a buff though.
I don’t think it’d be broken. It gets beaten by jumping and crouching attacks. has a startup that’s obvious, and can be severely punished on block.
Like I said. Fajita / Tortilla are already command throws. Giving him a Command throw ala Gief/Abel would make him overpowered. now maybe if it was a target combo thing like let’s say:
:qcf: :p: xx :mk: -> F +:mk: -> Down + :lp: + :LK: (Fuerte runs up and does that MK crap of his, if it hits the next input he runs up on the opponent and stands on their shoulders, then final input hurricanranas them
I think the Mexican stereotype is not abused enough on El Fuerte, and I hope this gets solved on SSF4. Here are my suggestions in order to do so:
First: He should throw nachoShurikens. They don’t do a lot of damage, but if they hit a fireball, the fireball disappears and the nacho falls to the ground. The nacho heals 40 points to anyone that picks it up!
Second: I’ve invented a new super for him, which I call “La Cucaracha Picante”. It goes like this.
[] El Fuerte sings “La Cucaracha, la cucaracha…”
[] He runs thoward his enemy
[] A punch on the stomach makes the enemy open his/her mouth
[] El Fuerte puts a hot chili on the enemy’s mouth, and then closes it.
[] The enemy struggles in agony, red-faced, while el Fuerte sings “Ya no puede caminar…”
[] Optional steam going out from the enemy’s ears for increasing the comical punch.
This should work like a grab - unblockable.
Are you fucking serious? We don’t need El Fuerte to be a racist caricature. For those nacho shurikens, maybe if he was half Mexican half Japanese, but that’s just dumb and reminds me of Diddy Kong’s peanuts in Brawl. That Ultra is… is…
I can’t describe it.
@KumaOso: “Stereotypical” is not the same as racist! Being stereotypical has been one core Street Fighter trait from the beginning: Zangief = “Russian stereotype+Wrestling” Dhalshim = “Indian stereotype+Yoga”. El Fuerte is “Mexican+Cooking”.
Regarding the “joke” part… well, there’s an undeniable humoristic tone on the character, I hope you agree on that!
Call the Nachos whatever you want - “Shurikens” is just a name I gave them. The point is that they would be an interesting counter to fireballs - allowing you to get healed by them. It would be an interesting alternative to just giving El Fuerte more health, as some are demmanding.
He’s a cooker, so he should be able to cook something, even in the middle of a fight, and gain a bit of health!
@DHEvil
Glad that you liked it. I wish we were in the same agreement on the other posts. I like Guile’s hair. Come on, the Guile’s hairdresser thing was a 1-line joke.
My idea for a command throw would be to not make it like Abel/Gief, but to make it like Mika’s 360+P grab from SFA3. Not a solid tick throw, but has invincibility frames before the throw (I’d say normal would be projectile invin, EX invin) Would do ok damage but nasty stun.
One thing from SNK I wouldn’t mind seeing Fuerte get- Duck King’s Fake Air, or a move similar to it to slow down his jumps.
hopefully they’ll do unique intros this time around. IF Mika gets in, yeah that’d be nice to see.
A food based super/Ultra would be funny, being as it’s been shown he’s a terrible cook (a anime cliche reserved for females) perhaps Capcom can borrow from Sie Kensou’s super move where he eats a meat bun and recovers life only to choke on it and lose it again.
Fuerte serves up something.
Opponent eats
???
PROFIT
Fuerte: So good, it sends you straight to heaven!!!
I personally would love to see more of the funny side in the cutscenes only. There is a lot more room for hilarity and I think putting Mika in some of the scenes would help as well. That super of him singing and feeding the opponent bad food, I wouldn’t mind seeing it in the ending scene after defeating Seth and giving him the last meal of his life :bgrin:
BUT, in actual gameplay, I really don’t want too much of this stuff, a bit of humor is fine but more will make him look bad and really out of place. It would be much better if they concentrate on bringing more out of the luchador in Fuerte with the new Ultra, Gigabuster is certainly very cool (and useful), something on par for the second one is what I really want to see (I don’t think any more special moves are necessary, just tweaking some of the current ones as mentioned before should be good).
I think I overreacted on all of this. I’m fine with stereotypes, but it just seemed to me that your ideas were pushing it. The cooking aspect would be great if this was Super Smash Bros., but considering that this could be abused, it will never happen in Street Fighter.
