EL Fuerte's Revenge! ala improvement thread

It’d be nice if it gave meter VERY slowly perhaps?

It can be spammed so well is the problem.

Hab dash gaining meter is a bad idea.

150? Akuma, Viper and Seth either have stamina equal to or less than EL Fuerte. yet, overall they’re more highly rated than EL Fuerte. why?

bingo. Akuma, Viper and Seth are all true glass cannon builds (ie: low stamina/high damage) with useful tools and multiple ways of putting an opponent in the hurt locker. in short, his low stamina isn’t the problem. the RSF isn’t the problem. the main problem is EL Fuerte is a fake glass cannon completely dependent on the RSF for high damage.

agreed. it really doesn’t help EL Fuerte cause when 2 of his moves are totally useless.

agreed. q-bomb isn’t a bad move once it gets off the blocks. also, i think EX QB should have armor (one hit) like his EX run.

agreed. it would be the akin to allowing Sim, Bison or Akuma build meter by teleporting.

Everybody says replace gordita sobat but they don’t know what to replace it with. So i think i know what he needs: something better to stop people from jumping away from his run mixups. Really anything to do that like: Instant guacamole out of run, diagonal Q bomb out of run, jump up and air grab out of run, or something entirely new. Sometimes its just too hard to run, stop, guacamole in time to catch them out of the jump.

Lmao at the people who say his whole damage comes from the RSF. RSF is more like a threat to stop people from DP spamming your mix ups. It’s like, “Don’t DP or else it might whiff and you’ll lose half of your health”. It enables you to play a safe mix up game. Your main damage comes from the actual mix up itself. If you watch a high level fuerte match you’d be lucky to see them RSF once a set.

Actually. I did. Read on:

Possible replacement:
Replace it all together with a jump similar to his Picadillo jump
that, unlike the back one, allows for follow up attacks. it would be a nice alternative for stopping and quickly inputting Guacamole.

Also. I totally agree with you on topic of RSF being the dont-ever-do-that-against-me-again kinda thing.

I think I might have said this before, but for me I think one of my major desired improvement is for the Fajita Buster to deal more damage, it is an extremely risky move that can be punished by virtually anything, and currently it does very minimal damage. Just curious who agrees on this? Is there anything that justifies its current low damage output that I am unaware of?

that panel in the first page is sick, lol fuerte

Yeah I agree with Fajita Buster doing more damage. its about the same damage as a normal throw. and to be honest, normal throws are less risky.

El is a fun character but against the higher tier you really have to work for your Victory, Gief can kill him in 4 Fierce punch suplex.

He needs more Stamina and 5% increase in damage.

It would also be great if capcom fleshes out his backstory more, maybe its possible to mention his past and/or possible interactions with other characters in the cast.

Also, I am not sure if this is important, but I noticed that almost all of Fuerte’s moves (with exception of Guac throw) have a lot of recovery time, more than many other characters. One missed fajita, splash, tortilla and you get punished severely by the pros, would it be better to have at least the splash with a faster recovery time? Currently it can either be punished with FA or dash and then punished, which seems a bit too much of a risk, making the move not as useful as it should be. Fajita and tortilla are grabs, so at least they can’t be FA’ed, so having the current recovery time is fine by me. What do you guys think?

It makes you wonder if they wanted Fuerte to be bad.

Hopefully, that’ll be fixed next game along with more detail into his backstory. He’s the only one of the newcomers whom we little to nothing about. We don’t know why he’s a luchador, why he loves cooking, and so on. We know the basics for the others.

My suggestions:

RSF gone.
Overall damage buff- 10% or so. 20% on mixup moves.
Q Bomb should be a motion qcf+K perhaps

hcb+k Command Grab, maybe something similar in mechanics to Mika’s 360+P grab from SFA3. (invincible flip forward that goes over lows, then grab- EX would be fully invincible)

What would be nice and creative but won’t get done- he does different grab at the end of the move based on the opponent, or size of opponent.

This fits my theory of give everyone a new toy to play with, and buffs Fuerte.

Considering that RSF is already hard to pull off and then there’s a problem of finding an opening, RSF could stay in its current state.

I still don’t get the dislike for RSF. I’ll bet every single person who’s suggested RSF be removed is not a Fuerte main.

Fuerte players love it, and we know how hard we have to work to get it in a real match.

RSF gives Fuerte personality and charm, and a unique way of dealing damage that doesn’t apply to any other character in the game. Don’t take away uniqueness from the fighters. What are you going to punish a whiffed uppercut with? Run, slide? HK xx guac? People aren’t scared of that.

Taking away RSF makes Fuerte a generic character, even if you buff the damage on his other moves. Capcom should (and will) keep this combo in SSF4 to promote diversity. Too hard for you/don’t like it? Play another character.

I like RSF. And I’m a Seth player.

I can’t think of any reason to remove it instead of just giving him new stuff or improving what he has.

<3 el fuerte.

Ditto. anyone stating to remove the RSF is a fool who has zero knowledge of playing fuerte, more often then not a Fuerte will opt for cl:hp: xx :qcf: :p: xx :hk:

I also agree that RSF is one of the most unique aspects of the character (even though I fail at it big time lol still practicing though).

Aside from that, Fuerte is already a weak character, how can anyone try to nerf him even furthur by removing his key combo is beyond me. He needs to be improved to make him more competitive, removing any useful combos/moves is not helping at all.

I am hoping that the inclusion of T.Hawk in the game will provide a chance to go into more background info on Fuerte as they come from the same place, there were some parts in the comics about that but not enough. If capcom expands on that it would be great… Also bring R.Mika into his story as a cameo at least :love:

Yeah that’d be nice to see. Going by the comic T.Hawk dislikes Wrasslin’ so Gief/Mika showing up for Fuerte during this might be good for a laugh.

That comic was the very reason why I want Mika in. Like I said earlier, I’d love to see his origins and maybe his real name.
