i actually dont think his crouch attacks are fast at all, i mean i get grabbed after i put out the first cr LP. so it’s pretty slow. I haven’t gotten grabbed from LP strings, but it does look slower than what I’ve seen to be honest. Maybe it was from the update since i got SF4? I’m on a ps3 btw.

I would love to know as i am very stuck in my fuerte training.
RSF- I feel the rhythm but can’t seem to get it fast enough. I see some vids of peoples hands and i can’t seem to match it without doing it wrong. I can only do two hits before they are too far awa.

I know good poke strings and pressure and mixup but the last (most important) piece of the fuerte puzzle is missing.

yeah, i watched older vids, fuerte was able to combo those jabs i can’t do em, and it’s nothing more than mashing too.

you gotta time them.
it works, trust us

shower kick > st. jabs. up to 4 or 5 if i remember correctly.

It’s not about speed at all, it’s all about rhythm. The second hit can’t happen too fast or you’ll never get the third hit in.

As for jab strings, I know I’ve done at least 4 but I think I might have even hit 5 once.

‘It’s not about speed, its about rhythm’ is a good mantra for learning all of Fuerte’s combos. RSF, RSLowForward, blockstrings etc.

Sigh…

i was practicing by playing a chunli cpu on hard. I got destroyed. why? i get cornered and I can’t do a thing.

What can I possibly do in the corner besides Guac escape? I cant land a hit, i have no room to run.

CPU is very different than any player ever will be. Don’t practice against that.

yes im aware that cpus aren’t like humans. but the fact that the cpu can do something means its possible for a person to do that.

CPU gets clobbered by random Tortilla and FA though. Abuse those and even hardest CPU is just a joke.

Anyway, it’s incredibly hard for Fuerte to get out of the corner. Try focusing on not getting pushed there in the first place. If you think you’re getting too close to the wall, look for a good timing to wall jump out of it.

In the corner, besides Guac, you can go for a counter throw to put them in the corner.(very very rare that your opponent is dumb enough to fall for this)
EX Run, crossup splash and you’re out. Loses to throws.
If opponent does a slow attack, hold up back, wall jump out. Loses to meaties, and opponent can jump attack you if they predict it.

There’s no sure-fire get out of jail card for the corner.

HooYeah!!! I went to hard trial 5 and practiced with the focus of “rhythm not speed” and i got it second try. I went to it again and cleared it just as easily.
I now get it, I must hit the second hit deeper to continue further. Thanks everyone.

My other question. is the RS low forward much different from the rsf?

The CPU reacts to you imputing a command, you have to be pretty stupid to lose to a cpu.

That being said I lose to the balrog because I forget and I keep trying to focus and he released his 3K charge move EVERYTIME

here’s a tip… spam slide and you’ll never lose to cpu balrog. (and I mean look away from the monitor hold down and spam HK)

How often should I be Focus attacking?

Until your opponent starts reacting to it.

Then you will cancel it as soon as you start it and wait for a jump then you guac that.

It is MUCH faster.

Personally, I don’t focus much because a random Tiger Knee or Tatsu gets my opponent the knockdown. One match, I did random focus to start, opponent Tiger kneed, before I knew it I was in the corner against Tiger Knee block string with no meter.

I hope i am not asking this in the wrong thread but i have a big problem fighting charge characters.

mainly Guile, Bison, Balrog. Should just bait and react? I try to keep them in the vortex but i go to splash and they dash forward.

This should go in the match up thread, but whatever against all three of these characters corpse hop on knockdown severly limits there options soo its pretty easy to guess what they are going to do. If an opponent keeps on forward dashing mix in a slide or 2 and try splashing in front sometimes.

Get the knockdown. Turtle the shit out of them. That makes THEM come to you they give up their charge (Except for Rog’s Turn Punch.)

Make’em come to you. See the matchup thread and the vids that accompany them for better info.

My cousin uses Bison alot. I have tomorrow off so I’ll have plenty time for an update in general this weekend.

Don’t be afraid to turtle back against Rog and Guile

Guile’s double sweep is fun, block the first, FA Crumple him on the second.

Bison tries to go for the second hit of headstomp Ultra his ass
