Hey, don’t know if Shiro or someone will pass this along, but this is general advice for the white guy (Vergil/Nova/Strider) I played on Saturday (I’m sorry, I totally forgot to ask your name).

Vergil block strings: work on these. Way too many times I saw you transition into s.SH. I didn’t really punish you consistently on these when I was Doom point, but you saw a bit of it when I switched to Spencer point. Use Strider to cover gaps/whiffs (or meter). Vajra doesn’t have to be reserved solely for teleport mixups.

Vergil BnB: I’m not sure if your hands were just feeling not great, or you missed the assist status, but there was one or two times where you did the regular s.LMHS into sj.MMHxxHelm Breaker. And then you had to stop the combo since you didn’t have Nova assist. Need to be just as comfortable doing the Rising Sun combo as opposed to your go-to combo.

X-Factor: against basically all of the team configurations I played, you really should’ve contemplated burning XF1 on my point. Especially Wesker/Doom/Haggar. Doom/Sent shells aren’t really too crazy in terms of comeback potential.

Wesker/Haggar mixup: from what I remember, you only did forward air techs. You also mashed on H. Depending on hit stun, try doing neutral techs. Your character flips out faster and can save you from having to defend the throw option.

Nova approach: not an expert on Nova, but try to utilize Strider better. I didn’t punish you on it, since I was usually using Doom/Dorm/Sent, but there was a few times where you’d do cr.MHS and I would push block your H and you’d whiff S. You could use Strider to cover openings like that.

Strider: generally, you looked a little lost without orbs and/or XF3. For example, with Sent, I would do cr. H (laser) xx H Drones. I did it once to see what you would do and you just sat there. I did it again and you tried teleporting on me (and I promptly missed the conversion). Use Gram H if that situation occurs (but watch my meter/your health as well, so I don’t catch you with Hyper Sentinel Force).

Dorm: I told you this then, but if I let out a stalking flare too close to you and/or badly timed it, think about using snap back to tap Dorm and get rid of the ball. Most characters can do it.
To be honest, most of my wins felt like they came from mistakes you made with your point. After that, I would just generally use annoying incomings to get you (the Spencer up grapple left/right, Doom/Drones corner pressure, Haggar).

Hey Zeni I’m the evil ryu player from last time. I’m down for games, was actually looking to go to OKG tonight but no one else seems interested.
I am free most of this week as I have no other work to do this trip since it was short notice.
Our wednesday night fight will probably be pretty packed again, had over 30 last week I think.
Damn that is a lot. I will still suck at Ultra as it would be my second chance at it until next week PC release.

Do you guys still play Guilty Gear occasionally up there? Once Xrd hits, are you Edmonton guys gonna go hard on that game, or do you think it’ll be more like a passing fad like P4U, UNIEL, etc.
