FakeSteve you jump too much and stop mashing.
You could have beat Kaymin but you got impatient and panicked multiple times and gave it away. If you just chilled and sat on the lead you would have been fine.
i played really shitty against amin. like ive said multiple times i played really really shitty overall at that tournament lol. i get tournament nerves like a bitch, its getting better though
Just play like you did last night towards the end. After I showed you that I could anti-air you consistently you stopped jumping and focused more on the ground game and you did significantly better.
Seemed like the Sakura player’s ground game was weak and he didn’t use some of her key normals like her c.Forward OS into DP. Didn’t see too many frame traps from him and not enough baits against the FTK as well. He also seemed to have problems with Latif’s mix ups, even though most of them were pretty basic with only a few being tricky. A lot of those mix ups I ran on you and last night you started to get the hang of blocking them.
our matches last night were interesting Killey. I won a lot more than I lost after I went for a cigarette and came back, because of exactly what you said - I stopped jumping and relied on my ground game, which is better than I give it credit for. That said, it also showed me how much mileage I get out of setups and combo damage and how much that masks my weaknesses. After the tournament I basically decided to start ignoring results completely and focus just on how I’m playing. I won more than I lost against you because of combo damage and the strong oki game I’ve put together, but you still outplayed me in some key areas that will get me absolutely killed vs a top player.
When we played last night I don’t feel like I outplayed you, rather that I kept practicing and you stopped, and I play a character that gets more out of lab-made setups than most.
Next time we play I’m really gonna try to eliminate the stupidity from my game right from the get-go. please continue to tell me when I’m being stupid because it helps a lot!
SF4’s meta is really reliant on oki based characters so there’s not much that can be done about that. It’s not like I’m not using a character that operates that way as well.
The mix ups are one thing but I can’t really contest your buttons with my own so I was struggling on the defensive and the footsie range with your far s.RH, c.Forward (OS to DP), and focus attack. The s.Fierce frame trap seems soooo good so I really scared of crouch teching at that point and have to rely on a reversal or a read on the throw.
close s.fp IS that good lol. a 3 frame, 90-damage normal that leads into fat combos is some serious shit
wtf why is that shit 3 frames…
When her j.HP can beat Gen’s Crane cr.HK head to head, it’s pretty difficult not to rely on jumps
But yeah, don’t get AAed and do AAs are very important in your game FakeSteve. I can still jump in on you almost freely in neutral game, and I have no way to deal against your cr.HP except for guessed U2.
Edmonton guys, I just posted on the facebook group. We’re starting a topanga-style singles league, please go check it out!
There is no hope, against one such as the Prince of the middle east, the one, the only. Saladeen.
that’s the guy who sacked Jerusalem, he wasnt at the tournament. that’d be sweet though
steve, does that mean u’re going to slow down on ur mashing

I’m working on something to provide incentive for everyone to improve their game… let’s get this started
INTRODUCING THE FIRST JUSTPANGA: THE JUSTHAUS LEAGUE
Entry: $20
Format: 10 entrants, ft7 sets, everyone plays everyone
Payout: $100 to the winner of Justpanga. $100 to the player deemed Most Improved, regardless of placing.
Matches will take place over the course of five or six weeks, to allow for people’s schedules. Mostly on Wednesdays at the Justhaus/Quantum Leaf.
These ft7 sets will serve to provide you guys with some match experience when there’s something on the line, as well as getting you more comfortable playing against a variety of characters, and sticking to your ‘A’ game.
I will not be entering Justpanga. I will serve as a coach, available as much as you guys need to practice, talk about matchups, and work on your game. At the end of Justpanga I will then decide who is the most improved, which is the focus here. You guys will have a sounding board for your issues, and a live person to practice against whenever you need.
The purpose of this league is to get you guys motivated and used to competition. If I can increase the hunger for victory in this town, I will consider this league a success. I’m willing to run the whole thing, track scores, etc, with some help from Jon.
We need 10 people for this league, it’ll be first come first served. Post here and have $20 if you want to join, and it’ll start when we have 10 people.
It’s time to level up, Edmonton. I will do whatever I can to make this happen. The first step is simply wanting to win, so show me you want to win!’’
lots of the spots have been taken up already! so get at us if youre interested
