Edmonton 2013 Thread!

Probablythis guy. I guess he’s got that batman money so he gets what he wants.

lol wtf? ST was at 6k this morning, 12k in the afternoon, and now it’s 34k.

Donated. Will donate again tomorrow. LET’S GO ST! Give me a reason to go to EVO again this year.

To be honest? Fuck SG and fuck Melee, let’s a game that actually deserves it on the main stage.

I wouldn’t be bummed if it was HDR. Bah.

Super Arcade might be shutting down.

Looks like I’ll be passing on the Manson tix. Good luck to selling them though

There are so many characters in Cross Tekken, how do I pick two?

Pick Megaman.

There, now you only have to pick one.

There’s only one rule of thumb you should follow when picking characters.

I am so fucking salty

New school players concentrate too much on xcopying setups from top players but they never know how to land it. You should be studying everything that led up to landing the setup and then go from there. Fixing your ground game will go a long way than learning setups.

Stuff like 1:57-2:00 is what you should be looking at. Uryo applies corner pressure to Bonchan walks just outside of Sagat’s poking range crouches for a moment to entice Bonchan to throw a poke or fireball and then immediately jumps. Bonchan falls for it, throws a fireball and then eats a huge combo into the corner set up. It’s the little things like that moment that will get you farther than xcopying a setup.

about ur tips… i’m not new to the game… so u’re stating the obvious

I’m not directing the tips to you.

I’m pointing out to people that just posting a vid and saying learn x setup is not the best way to teach people. Playing Fakesteve many times in the past I can point out his weaknesses to the game and his ground game still needs work (just like most people including myself). The tips I posted are just footsies 101 but it’s still impressive watching top players implement them effectively with good mind games.

I get sick of people noting x setup/combo/etc… because it was super flashy or stylish and not knowing the really sick things like the exceptional footsies and/or the mind games involved to landing that setup/combo.

This video pretty much sums up my day.
