Great tourney with us OG heads remembering how to play this otherwise dead game. Was a great way to kill time during the MvC2 quals when we really didn’t care.
My thoughts about the final ECC:
As always it’s great to see everyone out in full force again. If it’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that despite all the drama, bs, and ridiculousness that can come out of the East Coast Street Fighter community (especially since MvC2), we can all come together and have one shitload of a good time.
-Special thanks to EVERYONE who used my things and NOTHING GOT STOLEN. Fucking amazing. Why is it we can have majors on the East Coast, I can leave flatscreen LCDs and PS2s and Hori/MAS sticks unattended and nothing gets stolen? Sad it’s not like that over on the other side…
-Instead of giving specific shout-outs, I’d just like to say that just seeing and chilling with everyone at ECC is one of the best times I have all year. I’ve been extremely blessed to make it out to every one of these since ECC5 and I only wish I could have been more involved with the community before then, because it absolutely kicks ass.
-To Combofiend, Potter, Insanelee, Deuce, and all the other WC players who made it out to ECCX: THANK YOU. We really do appreciate your time and effort in making it out here, and your presence only made the event 100 times better. Despite what everyone says, the WC/EC drama that supposedly keeps WC players from coming to ECC is dead and buried, and you guys proved that. We like to have fun and make noise, and we DONT hate on you guys, despite what everyone seems to think (THERES NO FUCKING ICE AT THE BREAK!) Thank you very much for making it out, and I’ll be rooting for you in Marvel.
-Extra special thanks go out to the long-time ECC staff and of course to Phi. Phi, you took over ECC after Todd had to move on, and you’ve proven over the past four years that you could more than handle the task. I have been extremely impressed with ECC and that’s why I’ve made every effort to help you out for the past four of them. If you ever need anything, let me know, and if you’re ever passing through Connecticut, know that you’ll always have a place to hang/stay. That is of course unless I move out of CT, haha.
So, this was the final ECC. Fuck all that. Just because Phi has to move on with his life does not mean that this is the final ECC. Let me be the first of several gamers who I’m sure are going to come out and say HELL NO, ECC WILL NOT DIE HERE. I may be getting older, and worse overall at Street Fighter, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to sit idly by and watch the one and only East Coast major die. I’m more than willing to step up to the plate and take a larger role next year to make ECC happen, if need be. All I need to be told is the time, place, and means to make ECC 11 happen and consider it done. The Break may be too small a venue to hold it in 2006…or maybe there are some changes to come that will make it more manageable. But whatever is decided, I am more than willing to be a major part of it if need be.
I’ll see a lot of you at EVO I’m sure! Until then…

-I sucked nuts in ST and I know a lot of people are wondering wtf happened since I’ve been placing high lately in tournaments. Bottom line, I slept on Chris Li and went to losers quick, then ended up playing Ed the Head on a cabinet that refused to stay crouching half the time. Insert random sweeps and missed moves all day making me lose. It’s not an excuse, it’s just what happened, and everyone who played on that cab said the same thing…but it was a brand new 360 stick so nothing could be done. Moral of the story: everyone needs to pull their heads out of their asses and go back to 8-ways. Thanks.
