there should be public transportation of some form, this is in northern new jersey (aka a state with some actual decent public transit). look up bus lines or metro north trains.
If frodo wasnt going on vacation, I’d bank roll team trap in a 5 vs 5
Hey all, I’m thinking about coming to this event more as a way to get exposed to top level SF play than to actually compete ( I do plan on entering SF4 and SC4 if I do go though)
I’ve been a top level/sponsored player in another fighter that I know isn’t too popular around here, and is basically dead now and am looking to get into SF now, particularly 4. SF was the first fighter I ever played and is the reason I love fighting games, though I’ve never been anything more than a better-than-average, casual player.
The point of this post, is that I’m looking to change that and get serious, and am wondering how welcoming this community is to the newcomer, and if I make the effort to come out to this event, will it be worth it from a learning stand point.
I’m not looking for a private tutor or anything like that, I’l just like the chance to get casuals in with some experienced player, maybe a tip or two, and to not be treated like “a noob”, and shunned lol.
Just want to gauge the reaction of the community before I commit to coming out, thanks guys.
yes it will definitely be worth it considering theres gonna be over 100 ppl for sf4 in the tournament and you got the best players from the WC and the EC in the same place so im sure youll be able to have fun and learn something at the same time win or lose
dont be discouraged there are a LOT of players that can give you advice on stuff
Gootecks and Mike Ross are coming? Im so hyped up for this event.
Personally coming from two different gaming communities, I can say that this one is probably THE most welcoming of all. Shit dude, at NEC 9, I sat in someone’s room until 3am playing 3rd Strike and just giving them pointers on how to be a better player. 4 months later, I’m pretty good friends with that person haha. Majors are excellent for networking with the community, so don’t be shy!
Almost at the 100 mark!!! 10 more days people!!!
May 2nd and 3rd, 2009
i will remember every second of these 2 days for the rest of my life
Me too dude, me too.
I really hope all of the people voting in the poll are planning on coming to the tournament. I’d be really happy if that were the case.
btw, if anyone still needs share room. I would be that guys
Sinsation was my first tourney ever, and everyone I met there was awesome! They are super friendly and helpful, and you’re guaranteed to have a great time.
Sorry I didn’t do it correctly.

I remember when I first starting playing and was just another player in the crowd. It may be intimidating to you but don’t let it be if it is at all. We are all people doing what we enjoy doing. A new face is always welcome! Keep it coming guys!
Yo chris if you need a room let me know I got room for 1 more plus I think andy (cf akuma player) is coming with us.
