I spoke to John about this debate. The problem with flying in a player is only the community of which the player is flown in for will benifit. A Japanese 3s player benifits 3s, even if we flew in mago for sf4, still only sf will benifit. I want to Please as many people as possible. I was thinking of splitting the $1500 to the evo games (ssf4 t6 mbaa). Don’t forget we also have the flight to gamme… That’s a lot of money! Maybe we could guarantee a bigger pot for more games? I don’t know but the money really isn’t ours, it’s all yours. I did suggest to John we split the money to the pots.
Japan will also be out here for gamme in Florida don’t forget. Which is 2 weeks after this.

Guys, on a seriouse note… I love 3s to death. Does 3s really deserve an edition to the pot of that much? Should a Japanese 3s player be flown out…? I really don’t think so. How many people are going to enter 3s? Sadly not half as much as super t6 and melty. We have to face the facts. 3s is the st of our generation. I fully support 3s till death but we have to really pay attention to the community as a whole, not just 3s players.

my suggestion stands as the best one still
imo we would need a good payout in order for more ppl to enter 3s, unless the person entering feels they cant win which would be all on them (referring to splitting the money)
but then for those who cant make it to GAMME in Florida, this would be a good chance for ppl in the tristate area to play against a great player and learn something while they are at it regardless of the system setup
Super is going to be relatively new and we cant rely on the possibility that it may come out on arcade in japan so either way if we fly someone out for ssf4 then theyll still be at a disadvantage unless they play on console (this can be applied to 3s in the same way since they wont be used to console unless they practice on it)
but also we cant forget the fact that there are some top players in japan who play more than one game (Kokujin, Nuki, MOV, Tokido, Momochi) and are really good at them so i suggest keeping that in mind when you guys make your decision, whatever it may be (either way an extra $1500 is going to benefit the event as a whole and thats what matters!!)
