I agree. the face is slightly too long and not square enough. still looks really awesome though. if this was the final version i would have been really happy with it but since it is still 2 years away probably it is bound to get a whole lot better.
Can’t wait to see Chun li and Fei Long.
That was Ryu in the eighties, I knew the character in that way, redhead with a rebel air and Kung Fu footgear.
I always said this character was ruined by the Street Fighter II designers.
When they turned Ryu more bulky with short black hair and that ugly George Clooney/latino face, Ryu lost much personality.
And I love Tekken’s graphic style since Tekken Tag Tournament, Ryu isn’t the exception.
That sure is an amazingly average model with nothing worth noting at all. I don’t even get why they showcased Ryu first, it’s not as if there’s anything defining about him besides a red headband and weird eyebrows.
For an early look, it’s promising, but I’m not surprised, because I don’t expect less of people from Namco. I’ve been wanting to play with Street Fighter characters in 3D gameplay for so long. I prefer it for them in general.
I can’t imagine how zoning characters would work at all, or even charge characters.
I can think of a few characters who would work in the Tekken universe; Most grapplers would do well like Zangief and Hugo, not sure about T.Hawk though. I really want to see how they would handle Abel if he’s in the game.
I really want to see how they would handle Balrog too but he’s a charge character so I don’t know how that would work. I just want to see him face off vs Steve Fox, they’re like polar opposites in boxing. Dudley would work but I think he’d play too similar to Steve.
This and i really like ryu’s model in this and its good for an early build of the game. I can’t wait to see how sagat will look and how vega, blanka and old fire mouth will play =D.
i dont know how anyone is confused how certain characters are going to work
theyre going to have a lot of normals obviously and their moves arent going to work like they do in street fighter, theyre going to work like they would in tekken
i dont see this game having cancels at all but maybe strings in which youd be able to hit confirm strings or specific moves youd be able to add ‘special’ moves too
its going to be a tekken game just like sfxt is going to be an sf game
They may change the game slightly to accomododate for the SF characters but I imagine they would just redesign the Street Fighters as if they were brand new regular Tekken characters.
You wouldn’t see a character with charging Sonic Boom and Flash Kick special moves in a standard Tekken game would you? So neither would Guile in Tekken X Street Fighter.
I can predict much complaining when we do get to hear more news about the controls - “they play as if they were Tekken characters in a Tekken game! I don’t want to have to relearn a character I’ve been using for the last twenty years!” Me, I’ll enjoy seeing the changes, if I don’t like them then I have the Capcom game to fall back on.
