Didn’t one the the games later on patch in a fixed camera mode on top of the regular shoulder cam mode? also if you can’t choose your camera (guess I was fooled) then I’m happy with whatever. REmake 2 can work well in any camera format.
I think there are certain scenes where the camera zooms out for a more cinematic experience.
That said, having both options would be pretty hard since you’d have to tune the game for both, and a fixed camera also needs to have the environment made for it, to avoid issues with geometry clipping through the camera.
It’s pretty impressive that they are doing full Japanese voices because I noticed in the demo they showed that the mouths were actually moving to the english words, which means they have to animate the faces for both Japanese and English if that is the case.
It’s interesting that Capcom is heavily using one of their own internal engines again. Especially when other companies are screwing the pooch by doing the same thing (EA screwing up ME:A in part because they used Frostbite, and not UE like the past games, Square-Enix and its delays on FFXV with the work on Crystal Tools). I do hope if works out better for them.
I think Capcom already screwed the pooch with an internal engine. Deep Down used an engine that was supposed to be used on all their games and that game and it’s engine disappeared from the face of the Earth.
