Metroid and Yakuza aren’t licensed games, their respective developers/publishers own the rights to their own IP.
Nintendo does not have to license it self to make Metroid, Sega does not have to licence it self to make the Yakuza series.
Toei Animation had to grant license to Arc Sys to make DBZF. That is the big difference.
At any point in the future Toei can let the license to Arc Sys for DBZ end. I don’t know why they would but they can try to do this mid production for the game.
IP holders has done this before multiple times. The original Doom was intended to be a Aliens IP game but Fox pulled the rights, so ID software developed their own.
@Darksakul
What the fuck are you doing? Actually, let’s get a few things straight here.
I’ve been playing video games for a long time to know what a licensed product is. I wasn’t even talking about Yakuza or Metroid specifically when I was speaking about licensed games and I am already aware of DBFZ being licensed (And, I got a feeling that you probably know this). When I said even some of the ‘licensed games’ games looked okay, I meant games such as Spider man and such! I was NOT referring to Yakuza or Metroid as they have nothing to do with licensed products (the only exception is DBFZ for obvious reasons). The first sentence was just me highlighting the trailers that I liked. The reason I made that second statement after the fact is because most licensed-based products have a odd tendency of not turning out very well, besides a few titles. I don’t need you to tell me what a licensed product is. I’ve been playing games long enough to understand that. Trust me.
Am I the only one really not feeling it about the Spiderman game? I’m just seeing Batman with a different skin, expected something more creative from Insomniac than just copying a different game
I thought the Spider-Man 2 formula worked just fine. I played the first Arkham game and couldn’t honestly get into it. I’m still going to try the new Spider-Man game, just wish there weren’t so many QTEs as shown in the gameplay reveal. That kinda ruins the immersiveness for me personally.
There’s more environmental interaction with Spider-Man’s combat. He’s able to web people into walls, use cranes, web a brick and throw it at someone. Batman style of combat works for Spider-Man.
Wolfenstein II - Day juan already got the CE pre-ordered I’m so damn hype.
The Evil Within II - Day Juan
Yakuza: Kiwami - Day Juan the Steelbook.
Yakuza 6 - Day juan
QTE work it it’s tied into a scene specific action, like how boss fights are in God of War and not something Stupid like Press X not to die ala Dragon’s Lair.
