after watching the first clip i thought the main charcter was a witch holding a broomstick
looks quite similar to super meat boy.

It is similar; if you liked SMB, then you will probably like Dustforce. One big difference is that Dustforce has two ways you can play. You can play speed runs and just try to make it to the end, like SMB. But, you also have the option of Completion speed runs, where you have to 100% clean the levels while making to the end. If you want to unlock new levels, then you have to play Completion runs first. Dustforce also has enemies in some levels.
It’s like SMB in certain mechanics, but the playstyle emphasizes more of skill and completion, and while completing the level itself isn’t that difficult, getting a combo to carry all the way to the end is. SMB emphasizes just throwing difficult obstacles at you and seeing if you can get to the end despite that. If you’re looking for SMB in this game, you’re going to be disappointed.
Some of the Gold Doors (difficult stages) are brutal. Like SMB brutal. Then trying to Double S them makes it crazy. But, for the most part, the platforming is easier than SMB.
I wouldn’t say that Dustforce takes more skill that SMB, because it is typically easier. On the other hand, Dustforce Completion speed runs take A TON of skill, because you have to master momentum and dashing (on top of the normal platforming).
The first Double S rank on the FINAL STAGE! (In case of confusion, I am not the player in this run)

As of right now, around 10 people have made it to the Final Stage.
This is what I’m talking about, yeah. Stages by themselves aren’t difficult to complete, but getting that SS (with a decent time) can be amazingly hard.
Soundtrack is for sale NOW!
Got damn, I must have this album.
The prototype demo’s key difference mechanically that you moved faster the more you cleaned up. This allowed speedruns to go even faster, but made the characters harder to control, to some blistering speeds.
Besides that, it was close enough. Good game, this. Been looking forward to it for years.
this game is super dope. it’s the first game in a while where ive said to myself this is for hardcore gamers, i dont say it often but ya. in terms of difficulty, it is difficult to SS clear the stages and i think in terms of dexterity skills, it’s more difficult than super meat boy. the dash demension adds another layer of depth that imo makes it more difficult than super meat boy.
so far my preferred characters are the blue and red characters.
im outi
