If you like using ranged sword magic, but being slower, go Asura.
If you like in your face rape you, and being faster, go Berserker.

From what I’ve seen from asuras, it sort of like whoever controls the space better. They certainly are viable but sort of like nen masters you sort of have to run around and try to be in their blind spot, while trying to get them into your area of attack.
I’ve met a good asura in practice once and it looked like he could handle the mechanic matchup. It was rush in, harass with neutral wave (which can hit the mechanic and destroy robots) and set up for other waves. He did things like move down one plane to hit with vacuum slash because it has a higher hitbox on top than it does below it. Wave radiation was like a panic button, harassment tool, and combo starter in one. When I fought him i lost 2-1. This was pre-40 though so I think I would do better next time.
What I’m saying is that they can do harassment bit by bit and but to land the big combos takes some work and baiting, sort of like someone sitting on their super in a fighting game. It has a different “vibe” fighting one because sometimes you are both just trying to maneuver in the right spot, while blademasters and berserkers often rush you.
So soulbenders suck?? Dammit now i really need to make a new acc lol.
From what I gather Soulbenders really really need the 45 skill. Otherwise the other classes can pretty much do what they do and a whole lot more.
But yeah if I were gonna make a slayer, I’d go with a blunt weapon Blademaster. Bounce those bitches like basketballs. Fuck a Zerker, lol.
^^^
They don’t seem too bad. I honestly see them the least. I probably see blademasters (lightsabers, honestly I have only seen like 2 blunt ones), then berserkers, then asuras, and then soul benders.
All I have to say is that phantasmal slash is freaking huge. It doesn’t hurt too bad but it’s the equivalent of saying sit your ass down so I can put circles up and try to drop tombstones on you. In pve though they are decent, except against dark enemies.
soul benders are decent. They’re more of a party class right now though. Plus they play decent spacing/hit and run in PvP. Though with the level cap at 40 Soul Benders lack a lot of what makes them fearful in solo PvE and a threat in PvP.
in PvP, you got ghost step to whore out and Phantasmial slash (I think that’s what it’s called.) for easy damage. Then there’s the Kala skill to throw out air projectiles which we don’t get until lvl 45. Combine that with the Leap skill and it’s a nice bit of comboing. I remember watching one of the korean DnF tournament matches where a Soul Bender fighter a priest (I think an Avenger). Basically put up Kazan in the corner to keep the priest out his face and only came out to Ghost step, Phantasmial Slash, then run back into Kazan circle or set it back up.
if you want, you can be a ass in PvP and just run away the whole match with Ghost Step, poke the opponent, and just run time out.
I run a berserker and i would say the greatest con of being one would be the bleeding effect of certain skills such as gore cross and frenzy. Gore cross is good, but I’ve gotten out of the habit of spamming it, since it uses up hp instead of mp. Derange and Raging Fury are THE skills for the berserker, and you don’t get that till lvl 30 and 35 respectively. So if you can stick with a sub par character til 35 then this is a choice. In fact, much of my experience in pvp without frenzy and raging fury made me more keen to my play skills. However, my PvP experiences have benefited much from these two skills.
PvE is pretty solid on the solo tip for berserkers, but in a party I usually just watch sitcoms on one half of the screen while performing the basic combo for the game, so pretty mundane and not worth spending life-draining abilities. Good health management = you’ll last in long solo runs = gotta fix your weapon at the end X_X.
I would say that Asura’s are pretty easy to avoid, just by using the y-axis movement. Mainly a keepaway character I would say. Blade Masters are a dime a dozen, but effective in pvp. So many out there = more demand for weapons = high resale value on light sabres. I would say Soul Benders are a sleeper class, but as of right now nothing really kicks ass. I heard good things about ghost step for SB (correct me if I’m wrong but this skill grants invisibility for a short duration, right?).
On the note of Soulbenders, I was playing Death Match in pvp once, and the tomb stones ass raped a clumped party. Honestly I was amazed, but you’ll probably be a sitting duck after the attack.
Avengers don’t exist yet
But yeah, I might as well chime in on this lively discussion since maintenance really brings out the chit-chat in us.
My Slayer is just a mule right now, only level 6. When I made him, I had an Asura in mind since it was the coolest subclass concept as far as Slayers went. Blind swordmaster? Hell yes, sign me up.
But when I actually checked out the skillset for Asuras and watched GSD in action, it wasn’t really my playstyle after all, didn’t interest me too much.
And there’s another factor for not playing an Asura, should I choose to ever level him.
His name is Ripsaw.
Ripsaw
That just screams bloodthirsty Berserker.
Lastly, yeah, props to Blunt master BMs since that seems like another cool subclass concept.
Ugh 12 hour maintenance. Of course it’ll extend to 18 hours because maintenances are never done on time. Ever.
Finally back playing again… I really like pvp in this game. But mistakes in your build punish you so badly.
I have a grappler(27) and monk(30)… and i prob screwed up my grappler. But i think its my fave class, i also want a asura summoner and striker. My summer is just 21 and striker lvl 9.
Few questions…
How do you wear av items before 30.? I bought some tokens and tried using them and gotta wait till im 30 on my grappler.
it seems like its better to solo mid lvl dungeons rather than party, i always end up with more exp or just about the same. truth?
You can wear avatars at any levels but only level 30 to use the gachapon. If you can transfer your tokens to your monk, then get the avatars, then mail them back to your grappler that might work. But I don’t know if you can transfer tokens.
the tokens should be linked to your account granted the monk/fighter are under the same login account. So buying them with the monk and mailing it over should work.
Nah, My Soulbender is lvl36 and doing just fine. It’s true that before you get phantasmal slash you are not as good in PvP, but one you get Saya at 30 you are pretty deadly. You can zone like a champ.
For PvE they are great, if a bit harder to solo with. In a 2 man team me and my buddy’s Exo get SS on just about every run of every map. Keep up your buffs and deal good damage.
Haha well i dunno what ill make yet but the only reason i chose slayer to begin with was cuz of ghost slash, it reminds me of getsuga tenshou!
anyone know how to buy these?
So I’ve been playing DnF (korean DFO) for a day, I love female gunner.
I am officially jealous. Wish I had some Korean children to jack SSN from. I hear the the IP block for the Japanese version is down now. Might be a glitch they fix soon but I am going to give it a try.
man i hope we dont have to wait to much longer…
Yeah this maintenance is killing me. So close to level 27
edit: the game is up but the website and channels are still down.
Still down, whyyyyy
