The problem comes from the pressing of buttons. Everything frame traps. Blocking her slide means she’s in her optimal range and trying to do anything after gets you CH.
This matchup is a good example of Dudley’s weaknesses. She’s in range to do everything she needs to pressure you with and any retaliation from you whiffs or is CH. It’s like giving Bison a vortex.
If I can play Super Theory Fighter 4, the only way that she’s getting a slide that’s even 0 on block is if she hits it at the very end of the animation, on the 11th active frame. That means that she is sliding a distance far enough that you can either see it visibly, or she will slide into a crouch forward poke. If she’s not doing that, you shouldn’t be getting counter-hit if you know the timing and are plinking them buttons. That’s theory fighter though, we all know shit doesn’t necessarily work that way IRL or more importantly ONLINE. Just learn the timing homie in training mode.

Theory fighting is exactly what you’re doing. It just doesn’t work like that. Trying to guess a slide with low forward just gives her opportunities to punish with a slide. Obviously the damage isn’t too high and she doesn’t get a knockdown, but she does get to pressure you for virtually no risk afterward.
And there is no way that you are reacting to a slide before having to block it.

I played some of the best Ibukis in Europe at SVB and shit just doesn’t work against her. Pressure, knockdown, vortex, it’s over.
About fifty percent of my dislike for Ibuki comes from my lack of experience versus her though. Still, she gets me pissed more than most characters. Like I said, she’s like fighting Bison with a disgustingly high damage/stun vortex.
That was in AE, not 2012. It might be better now with cr.mk being better but Ibuki got buffed also.

False. A command throw with invincibility that is around the ballpark of at least 4 frames will beat any safejump that is intended to hit meaty on any character. The same works for Gief, Hawk, Honda U2, Balrog U2, etc.
The invincibility on the throw allows the jumpin to whiff through the character, and the actual time when the grab comes out is during the forced landing frames of that jumpin (where you can block/tech throws, but can not jump/backdash/reversal).
So because it’s too slow. It wouldn’t happen if the EX versions had the same startup as the regular versions. Thank you for saying what I said again. Jesus
Um, nah. Lol. Hakan’s EX SPD is the exact same speed as normal, at 3 frames. Balrog and Honda’s U2 are also 1+0 throws, with invincibility; that doesn’t sound slow to me. It has nothing to do with speed, it has to do with move properties (being a throw, in this case), Safejumps are based around the fact that you can, generally, block after your first 3 landing frames, but nothing else to escape. This is also why you can’t safejump a 3 frame invincible DP without abusing ranges.
You can’t block a throw, so it doesn’t safejump throws.
Gief and Hawk’s EX SPD’s are slower than their normals SPD’s by a few frames, but the speed doesn’t affect the safejump.

I learned this after beating typical Fei Long garbage. You just have to go in without turning back and just wreck the day. As any character. It’s no fun waiting to get rekka’d at anyway.
Also I’d never even considered to combo anything into U1 outside of focus attack. I think I prefer U2 on hand cuz it’s a good anti-air and seemingly more combo potential, especially if you play a sneak Dudley.
I know there’s more to the Ibuki matchup than just the slide, but can’t you stuff it with c.lk?

I’ve tried that and it doesn’t seem all that reliable a counter.
Vs Ibuki if you’re standing where you’re supposed to be, right outside of her c.MP range you can whiff punish her slide with c.MP xx LK Duck Upper/MP MGB/MK Duck xx Super
