Dudley Q&A: Let's learn... like Gentlemen!

f.mk xx st.mk xx st.hp is the three hit target combo starting from f.mk. What this OS does is add an extra st.hp input at st.mk, so that if, on wakeup, your opponent chooses to block, the safe target combo comes out, but if they backdash, you standing fierce their’ recovery.

it’s f.mk xx st.mk+st.hp xx st.hp. I got the inputs wrong in my earlier post (which has now been edited) which is probably why you got confused.

arrrrm, i hate being the dump one, but what is Daigo OS?
(i know OS is for option select)
i would be glad if someone will go step by step on how to do it (daigo OS 101 )
thanks!!

The only thing that’s dumb about your post is that your b is upside down.

Do heavy jump in + safe jump. Input special/super/ultra (hold down so you don’t negative edge). On block the move does not come out. On whiff it does. But because it’s a safe jump the only time it will whiff is if they did a reversal, such as teleport, backdash, or Tiger Uppercut. Ideally you do a jump in OS (daigo OS) when it’s safe to do so - like jump in OS U1 vs Rose. If she does shit, she gets ultra’d. If she doesn’t do shit, you are at frame advantage. Basically it takes away reversal options but you have to make sure you know it works against everything, or at least know what beats your OS. For example, jump in OS ultra vs Rufus will be awful if he does wakeup EX Messiah - your ultra will come out and then you will whiff or get hit.

Thunderbolt. What is the point of this move?

Obviously Capcom are happy with it as they didnt change it at all but I am yet to encounter a situation where I should thunderbolt instead of another move.

it’s to gauge how your opponent reacts…
If i use it… i ask why later… so just don’t. nothing is guaranteed with that move.

I sometimes use EX thunderbolt + FADC to get the hell out of the corner, but that’s pure desperation.

I use thunderbolt to chip my opponent out sometimes.

except when it only touches them once instead of 4 times and then get raped for it.

Also, crossup Thunderbolt is useful, I don’t care what anyone else says.

You’d care if marn said something about it.
You all always second guess yourselves when you think “WWMD?”.

On a different subject.
SSB IS GODLIKE!
also meaty thunderbolt for the chip KO vs rose is gdlk.

Gee, thanks for lumping us all together. Just because I don’t go on a tirade about how marn is wrong about Thunderbolt being 100% useless doesn’t mean I agree with him. I just don’t care enough to argue.

I think thats why most dudleys are scrubby because they try to copy marns playstyle or just copy his combos when they don’t even know whats going on in his mind during those matches. Everyone use dudley the way you want to use him, be unique.
P.S. I think TB is ass and SSB is decent

this and that.
p.s. dont reversal vs me

New to ssf4

I cant, cant, cant for life of me connect move after dudleys target combos. Not even easy stuff like st mk, st hk, l mgb. Any advice on timing, ive been in training mode for like twenty hours. Also, any tutorials I should watch? Seen a few but they just are kinda generic, dont rly explain why you do the moves and stuff they suggest.

in twenty hours of training mode, you should’ve gained the muscle memory of every combo

This.
Learn how to cancel into special moves.
learn how to do juggle combos
then
learn hwo to do links
put them all together
come back to me

Not only voted troll of the year but now going for narcissist as well :o

@ 8thwondurrr - Most of Dudleys target combo’s don’t end with enough positive frames to link special moves. You are best off learning his jab to stand HK link before worrying about much else.

Oh maybe he’s just not using the 1… 2… 3… the 3 target combos that allow special move canceling
( i forget the names but the actual target combo inputs are… (c.LK s.MK), (f.LP s.MP), and (s.LP s.MP s.MK)

None of those Target combos are worth using since they scale per hit and are weaker than regular normal links.
Get aquainted with using his BnB links into s.HK and c.MP.
Hit confirming as early as possible is key.

Also are you completely new to SSF4 or fighting games all around?
If you’re new to ssf4 wait for my tutorial coming out sometime saturday.
I’ll probably get the splitters I need sometime late in the day tomorrow.

Good luck to all dudley mains going to NEC this weekend, will be watching to see some good matches

Which reversal ducking on wakeup is best to do against people trying to cross you up that isn’t that deep/meaty?
