Don’t think you can beat a shoryu like that. It’s active the same frame invincibility ends iirc.
I thought so, but I wasn’t sure and was considering that I just got the timing wrong. Man, I miss 3s shoryus. When you trade the opponent is still grounded by the way.
Yeah but it just resets the situation. Except you get launched.
Well yeah, but if it actually works that’s huge and it would probably work on someone with a dp not as good as a shoryu. Something to think about.
That would be probably only Dudley and Ibuki and they wouldn’t mash it out unless it were EX.
Sadly, that sounds about right. Back to the drawing board. Also, anyone know if Shoryu’s only have upper/mid body invincibility since you can meaty crouch roundhouse people out of at least jab shoryu?
Thanks for answering my question guys.
Anyone know some good dudley stick art other than the shadowloo.com one, I don’t got photoshop so wanna use a sick premade dudley theme stickart
…
jab shoryus are the only ones without full body invincibility for shotos. You can never beat a shoto DP with a meaty unless your meaty is even more invincible than the DP in SF4.
For all dudley users on arcade stick, do you guys use square gate or octagonal? I was thinking of buying the octagonal gate to see if it’s easier for half circle, quarter circle and shortcut inputs, but if someone had experience with both gates, inform me which one seems better for dudley.
After I do ex mgb I try the mk ducking straight to connect into ultra I don’t connect what’s up with that is it timing sensitive do I have to plink it?
I actually asked the same thing on the page before this. X’s post sums it up for you.
I’m using the square gate the Madcatz TE came with. If you’re having difficulty with inputs, you should practice them.

ohh the inputs is not difficult, im just wondering if some dud player uses octagonal gate so i can hear their feedback on if they prefer it better or if it feels comfortable.
That’s what I thought. Thanks for confirming it. Man, that is lame.
I use a square gate as probably does the majority on shoryuken. A square gate is better once you get used to it, this has to do with grinding the edges and various amount of other things which I’d rather not get into right now. Just take it from me that a square gate is better in the long run. It’s not without reason that you will find a square gate in pretty much every 2D fighter. I haven’t met a single person who hasn’t eventually regretted getting an octagonal.
The main reason for using a square gate for me is that it’s the default one, it would be a shame to do poorly in a tournament where you can’t use your own stick(wrong platform) for example.
What is dudleys best instant overhead?
Why would you want to be jumping back with Dudley after a knockdown? thats like…retarded
I do it with Honda and Rufus with meter. Works well. Even better in AE if RH get’s knockdown air to air.
