pad plinking is plinking on a pad…

When you guys do cr lpx2-hk do you guys plink it? if so what button would i press after the HK to plink?

Same goes for f mk-hk…

Because i would say i would use mk but the thing is don’t you have to plink a normal and not a command normal?

Like, for Rufus I know if you wanted to plink lkx2-hp i would do lk-lk-hp-lk to plink it properly.

I plink sHK with MK button.

Anything linking into sHK I plink with MK.

I’m still trying to get the hang of plinking and haven’t successfully done it yet. Do you have to hit the mk and HK buttons almost together like a ken kara throw? Slower? Whats the timing?

The timing is exactly the same timing as a kara throw.

It almost seems that doing the actual combo and not plinking it is more practical?

I only plink kidney blow > roundhouse, jab > fierce and crouching roundhouse juggles. Jab > roundhouse is one that I’m 99.9% likely to hit.

It makes the combo harder at first. But then it becomes an advantage as you get used to it.

Are there any basic links for a beginner Dudley player. Also are there any tips to making openings for target combos

basic links are
c.lp s.rh
s.lp s.rh
c.lk c.lp s.rh
f.mk s.rh

and the only other links you really need are:

f.rh c.lp s.rh
f.rh s.rh

Thank you noodle and is there any way to bait into a link or target combo because I almost always have trouble getting into combos without jumping in (Cody player for a month) and usually get destroyed while waiting for and opening

f.mk is your best frame trap into combo on the ground.

Gotta make an opening yourself. Pressure with normals until they do something stupid like pressing buttons inbetween your buttons. f. MK, cr. LP, cr. LK, s. HP and f. HP are all good buttons to press for pressuring. With time, you’ll get the hang of it. Watch some Dudley videos for examples of what I mean.

A lot of dudley’s biggest combos are gonna be off of punishes. Check out the Dudley video thread for an idea on how to go about opening up your opponent for damage. You’re going to lose a lot before you start winning.

I’ve still be debating the usefulness of FADC with Dudley. Sure, FADC can save you from an unsafe move. I use it currently with EX Jet Upper to make it safe on wake up. And I use FADC with Duck Straight/Upper to help me advance or continue a combo. Especially in fights where I’m outranged significantly by characters like Sagat, Chun-Li, Guile, Dhalsim etc. Other than Thunderbolt FADC what else is nifty to use FADC for?
