I was wondering about the new and improved f.mp, does it have more advantage on hit or block? is it viable to combo something off it now? (like c.lp xx duck/lp.mgb? maybe even s.hk on CH?)
oh AE dlc, when oh when will you reach us.

Pretty sure the hit/block advantage is unchanged.
0 on block
+3 on hit
+6 on CH
It is viable for doing counter hit combos now. I am not sure if it has more advantage on hit or block normally, but it does seem to give a lot of advantage on counter hit. I have been playing more online super again lately, and all I can think about is that new f. MP saving me so many headaches in footsies.
holy SHIT I want EX Duck yesterday.
If i get backdashed one more time im done.
How does EX duck help with killing backdashes? Isn’t lk duck just as good?
I can’t wait to try this. SSB is one of my favorite moves, I get punished so often when trying to use it. Also is this corner only or?..
Just saw the hitbox for EX Duck, and it definitely looks like you can’t use it to get out of deep cross-ups.
Define deep, because it gets me out of a lot of things. I’d actually think that deep ones are probably the easiest ones to get out of. It is the ambiguous ones that have the chance of auto-correcting the wrong way and it still gets me out of those with great frequency.
Deep as in like a meaty cannon strike or like a deep jump-in roundhouse with Chun. Based on the picture of EX Duck’s hittable box, moves that hit like that should definitely hit Dudley unless the Devs lied to us.
Keep in mind, you are moving forward as the move starts. The real test for it for me was getting out of Deejay’s ambigious, meaty crossups and Ibuki’s vortex. And unless it autocorrects in the wrong direction, it works on both those counts. So I am fairly certain it will work for most any crossup. So, you can take my word for it or not I guess.
If it works it works.
by deep he/they mean attacks that go in deep.
like Blanka and Chun’s jump HKs.
They go in deep past ur upper body, no ex duck will save u from that.
same with ibuki kunai and meaty cross ups.
cant cross counter/EX duck those.
niblets.
What thirtyfour said. I was wondering about how the hell you were getting out of the Kunai vortex with ex duck. The kunai if done right is hitting Dudley near his knee.
Not so many changes IMO.
Well, the Ibuki player that I get my practice against is among the better players in the area, so I wasn’t getting out due to his error. You should keep in mind that her vortex setups vary drastically in order to maximize confusion in blocking, and it seemed to me that the majority of setups failed against wake up EX duck unless it autocorrected in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, thanks to MvC3 dropping, I haven’t been able to make it out to the arcade in some time, so I forget which setups it was specifically working against. I am assuming that the setups that release the kunai early, so that it will be in Dudley’s hittable box during wakeup are probably going to be the ones that can stop a wakeup ex duck.
**Edit: I also do recall that there have been some changes to Ibuki’s vortex setups. I might have been getting out of some of them because he couldn’t use certain setups anymore, and the ones he was able to use might not go deep enough.
And it was basically getting me out of every crossup that Deejay would try to setup on me. So, I think that EX ducking is probably best used for ambiguous situations (which are often not deep by the definition you guys are going by.) But I don’t see that as a problem with the moves utility due to deep crossups usually being easier to read and block against correctly and the ambiguous ones were where Dudley struggled.
@Lawler, the differences feel enormous in practice. The quantity of changes is much less important than the quality.
I remember reading that the angle of her kunai has been changed. Perhaps that is helping?
I’ve had a chance to look at the Mook which has the frame/damage data for all of his changes. The only thing I noticed was the stomach blow buff. I haven’t played AE enough to get a feeling for how much better all his other hitboxes is but from what I can tell these buffs wont help the character too much, though Dhalsim, Guile, Chun and Deejay should be fairly easier. What he really needed was a faster sweep with more range. Hopefully we’ll get that once the consoles get their version of the update (assuming they do).
f+MP stuffs SO MANY mid range pokes that would make his life hell before.
I’ve been practicing on console for a tourney this week. Seriously, life without the AE f+MP is dreadful.
Does EX Duck beat Zangief crossups? I am sick of guessing wrong and getting SPD’d into oblivion after that fat Russian lands one untechable knockdown.
