Dudley: A Distinguished Thread for Gentlemen Pugilists

Why would anyone do that?

The only reason gorlaB is called Boxer is because of the stupid naming change between Japan and everywhere else.

Dudley doesn’t have any such issue. He’s Dudley here and there.

As a character Dudly was the only 3rd striker I could get into, but I always hated his soundtrack… That’s ok though, now with the advent of the 360 streaming music off my computer, I think I’ll play him with a loop of some classical mixed with some ragtime in the background. Something that is a bit more distinguished.

Also I am noticing a lot of people complaining about his voice actor, I just listened to the third strike voices then watched the trailer and battle again. In 3 his voice was a little slower, but the 2 are very simmilar. Now Ifd you will excuse me, I must take my gentlemanly duty and pull out 3 so I can get some execution practice in.

i agree. it was very well done. the soundtrack for every game i’ve played usually goes in one ear and out the other ( la “Indestructible”). furthermore, i didn’t play 3s when it originally dropped, but when i stumbled across a 3s vid. surprisingly, i found myself listening to the music more than watching the gameplay. i don’t think every track is good, but many of them are good enough that i put them on my mp3 player. it’s a shame Capcom didn’t use them to work on SSF4 ST.

Well to be fair, in Japan he’s Da’durey

Well, flashy combos versus simpler, more useful combos and all that. And SF3 wasn’t exactly devoid of scaling either.

If anything, Balrog should be called Boxer 2.

I just wish he didn’t announce the name of every attack he does. “MACHINE GUN BLOW” just sounds lame, even for Dudley. Though “Uppercut!” And “Cross Counter!” need to stay in.

Why does Dudley sound like a white American doing a bad impression of a British man?

It’s not like there is any confusion on Dudley’s name like there is on boxor.

Btw the penguin under the car is Francis diakowsky (Dudley 3S voice actor)

Nickelodeon probably owns his soul, reason why they couldnt get him.

Yes, but referring to Balrog/M.Bison as boxer could easily refer to Dudley as well.

I’m one of those people that just calls them by their American names cause it’s not like I’m talking about it to some japanese guy (Except for when I go to japan this summer). I think the whole Boxer, Claw, and Dictator dubs are pretty redundant anyway.

I’m loving that vocal demo, lol, i’m picturing dudley trying to do all these voices

We can call Balrog “Boxer” and Dudley “Gentlemen”

No…u just call Boxer Boxer like we have been since SRK got booted up in 99/2000 and call Dudley Dudley. No one’s going to think Boxer means Dudley unless they made their account in O TEN.

geez, just call them balrog and dudley

there are hardly any japs here. who’s gonna get confused?

Not really anyone seeing as the context the names are used usually is a dead giveaway anyways.

But there are SOME people that insist on using the japanese names and that’s why we say boxor.

Why can’t he just call Dudley…Dudley? Its like some newschool people just WANT to make up new slang just to feel included. Dudley is Dudley. Balrog at the most, is “Boxer” because of the potential legality issue attached to Balrog being “M.Bison” in the Japanese version of SF2.

There’s no reason to call Dudley, “gentleman”.

Hi I work for Capcom and I showed them your comment. We all took it to heart and now Dudely is no longer part of the game, instead you’re getting Billy, a young martial artist who trained in the art of Shoto. he wears a karate gi and has spiky hair.

they are dumbasses. american site = american terminology
