Ducktales New Series First Art Revealed!

Webby, I love ya, but I need some Launchpad McQuack in my life and pronto.

I’m looking forward to it, I miss shows like this.

Webby best duck girl. <3

Also, apparently my cable provider has the next episode of Ducktales to be aired on the 3rd of October. Hmm…

Episode 4 popped up on my iTunes last night. I’ll catch up tomorrow since I have the day off

i continue to love this show. if theirs a legal way to watch it online without paying let me know. i want them to have my views if possible

Well that was surprising.

Spoiler

I don’t recall them saying anything about Magica while promoting the show before it aired. So it looks like they wanted this to be a big surprise (which it is). Also, kudos for using a “new” characters (who’s basically a new version of Minima) to introduce her.

?? i swear i saw her in the artwork of some of the characters a few pages back.

Can’t seem to find it. I did a search online for any concept art of her for the new series, but the closest thing I’ve seen are some unofficial sketches by Dave Alvarez that are still based on the artstyle of the old show.

Ok, so things to note about this episode

  1. THANK GOD LAUNCHPAD!

  2. I fucking hate Leena. Even going past the whole Magica connection/plan I hate her character.

  3. Magica’s replacement VA is no June Foray, but she was a legend, so that’s an unfair comparison

  4. I was wondering when they’d get around to establishing Huey. Glad they did.

  5. I love that all the subway ads were for Glomgold shit. I was a particular fan of ‘Glomgold water: Clear and Liquidy, Just the way you like it’

Webby’s voice is too reminiscent of 1990’s ADV dubbed anime where all action girls were screeching during their fighting or arguing scenes. I thought those shit days were behind us.

And I would smash the hell out of this new Beakley.

why didnt anyone tell me episode 4 was straight the plot to the warriors lmfao

I haven’t seen past the pilot but I plan on catching up this week since I have a 3 day weekend. I’m super stoked to watch.

Yea I need to catch up myself as well, also haven’t seen past the pilot. Will probably try to do so on tuesday/Wednesday as those are my days off.

Finally saw the latest episode.

[details=Spoiler]This is one of those episodes that goes beyond what could be done in the old show. The way it goes into Donald and Gladstone’s relationship is something more akin to the old Duck universe comics.

It’s stuff like this that’ll really set this new show apart from the classic 1987 version, and I hope they get to do more of these.

It was a fun episode.

You know what’s weird? The dudes name is Toad Liu Hai. I spent HOURS trying to parse out the pun name, till I looked it up and learned it was an actual myth. I still haven’t sorted out how I feel about that

So, according to Frank Angones, the order that the episodes are being shown isn’t the order they planned. There’s at least one Huey centric episode that was supposed to come after “Daytrip of Doom” that was moved to December because the network wasn’t a certain ratio of “Duckburg:globetrotting” that had them push that specific episode down the line.

Here’s his original episode order.

I can believe it. Two Lina episodes in a row was a bit much, but since it was also a Huey episode it got swapped in earlier

No Launchpad yet, but at least a good Scrooge:

Thought these were for the new show, kinda disappointed that they’re not. Genuinely got excited at the thought of a Rescue Rangers reboot done in the same style as Ducktales 2017.
