Finally I`ve got my PCB Dual Strike v2 and assembled them with parts. And what happiness after first testing: They do their job !

New Features :

Symetrical Design
4 Mounting holes
4 GND Terminals
SMD parts for faster assembly

But now to the often asked screw terminals for the USB datalines. Thus making mods with for example TEasy is even more easy.
Just use your stock TE usb cable.

I got a chance to use one of Gummowned’s Dual Strike SMD boards on Wednesday, and I’m definitely a fan.
It has a much smaller footprint than the ChImp, and has almost every feature it does (minus autodetect).

The best part about it is he put the holes in the order they are on the TE, so unlike with the ChImp, I don’t have to check which 1-11 or A-H i have to solder something to, I can just solder down the line.

Also bencao74, how do I enable trigger inversion? I know I have to solder to the inversion spots, but I think I have to set it up in config mode and I don’t know how.

there is a readme in every release

Startup Behaviour

If a button or joystick direction is pressed, when the Dual Strike controller
is activated (if the machine it is plugged in is turned on or the controller gets
plugged into the machine), then special functions are activated:

If the Select button is pressed, then configuration mode is entered (see below).

Configuration Mode

In the configuration mode the behaviour of the Dual Strike can be changed,
see Startup Behaviour for how to enter it. Leave it by pressing Start.

Extra Pins Mode

Button: MP
Up = deactivated (precedence over Left and Right) [default]
Left = read joystick mode switch (precedence over Down)
S3 and S4 have to be connected to a triple switch
Right = emulate joystick mode switch for pass-through (precedence over Down)
S3 and S4 have to be connected to joystick mode pins on the
pass-through PCB
Down = inverted triggers for pass-through
S3 and S4 have to be connected to trigger pins with active high on the
pass-through PCB

Tested the rest of the stuff and its’ working!

Piggybacked a TE PCB via Dual Strike interface works.
Selecting USB lines via 4006 (integrated Imp functionality) works, too. So its available right now…

Newbie needs help

Hello,

I just got a 360 TE stick and I’d like to do the dual strike mod so that I can use it on my PS3. I’ve been searching all over the place and I can’t seem to figure out where to purchase this board in the US. Would someone please point me in the right direction?

There is no US for Dual Strike.
Unless you want the SMD Dual Strike from Gummowned.

Ah, that explains it. Any reason not to get the SMD version? International shipping is always a pain.

the smd version doesnt have screw terminals and doesnt have the pinheader to easily connect to the teasy when that comes out. Although I do have plans to add screw terminals on the second version of the dual strike smd in the future.

But the #1 reason to use the SMD version is because it can practically fit ANYWHERE!!! Enabling the possibility to turn almost ANYTHING into a ps3 controller

Thanks Gummowned. I’m not afraid to solder so the screw terminals aren’t an issue. As long as the SMD version is compatible with the regular versions firmware that I should be good to go. Based on what I’ve read I think that all I’d need is this board and a DPDT switch to switch between consoles. Next question is where can I get it?

The Dual Strike already does Console Switching by holding down a Button.
So you don’t need DPDT Switch.

Currently 6? for international shipping to US. Shipping is then via airmail and is last about a week.

No, currently no US if shipping is in time Phreakazoid187 will have some at EVO. If you can solder the Dual Strike SMD Version is great.
B2B in US is welcome, anyway…

Thanks for posting. Awesome work on this project.

Shipping from Europe seems reasonable compared to my previous experience in international shipping with Play-Asia. It took 6 weeks to get a white dual shock 3 and that has soured me on international shipping.

I ordered the SMD version from Gummowned a couple of hours ago otherwise I would have ordered your board as a week seems reasonable.
