@Super Sick Case
the type of music you choose to listen to is not the mistake, i listen to heavy stuff as well but in moderation. if you are going to perform a task that requires for your focus and steady nerves, then maybe you should avoid the loud stuff prior to the match or at least turn down the volume to reasonable levels to clear your head and relax yourself so you can hit those combos better. especially during clutch moments of a match, this is vital to get that win.

peace out.

@OP: I’m the exact same way. What’s worse, is I get overrun by nerves even during my local offline casual meetups. I was getting really mad dropping Hakan’s :lp:, :lp:, :lp:, :f:+:lk: xx :hp: Oil Slide during matches. I took fifteen seconds to hit training mode and hit it the first five times I did it. Unfortunately, the only advice that I can give is the advice that I’ve given myself that I’m trying to follow: I’m going to go to every tournament and meetup possible until it just becomes second nature and the environment will feel comfortable. Until then, I plan on dropping a lot of combos :rofl:

On that note, play it a little safer.

e.g., try just 2 LPs. Slightly less damage, but safer.
In 3S, I don’t do the lk tatsu, jab xx DP with Akuma when under pressure because that 1 point of health difference isn’t worth me fucking it up.

Great advice.

I did try single :lp:s, but still messed it up. That is neither here nor there, though. When I’m learning a combo for a trial or a new character or whatever the case may be, I break it up; I’ll do the last two hits. Then I’ll throw in one more move before that. Then once I master that, I’ll throw in another one, and another, etc. etc. until it’s all so natural for me that it’s NP. Perhaps I should take the same tactic with matches; once I’ve “learned” a combo I should still try and roll into a match with shorter hit confirms. Yes, it sort of defeats the purpose, but if I can consistently hit :f:+:lk: xx :hp: Oil Slide, blocked or not, that’s a good start =)

Maybe you could try focusing more on the combo, I have had that problem in the past. When I play Marvel or characters like Ibuki in AE during my bnb’s I start to think about what setup I am going to use afterwards. By shifting my focus I go on autopilot during the combo and it affects my execution for the rest of the string.

I’ve had to train myself to not do this lol, but my execution shot up after I stopped doing this for everything but the most basic stuff.
