I could only suggest you try other sixaxis/dualshock drivers. Motionjoy was necessary for these to work right for me on 32bit XP.
Personally tried Motioninjoy for Vista 64 bit and 7 64 bit. Nothing. Only worked for me on my desktop XP 32 bit.
I recently had a problem with my friend’s Windows 7 64 bit laptop but fortunately I found the solution to this. follow these instructions carefully
The most important part is the pressing of F8 on startup to disable digital signature enforcement and you have to do this EVERYTIME you want to use your joysticks
I got it working on my vista 32bit with Xpadder and the sixaxis driver.
Well, i tried it, but no luck. I even edited the driver .inf to include the hardware ID of the controlelr itself, but still nothing. Thanks anyway. Let me guess, it was a sixaxis controller, wasn’t it?
Anyway, if you guys think of anything else, I greatly appreciate it. Even hard modding the controller isn’t out of the way, it could be fun to play with a soldering iron again.
Either way, thanks for the responses.
Just did a Google search & your post showed up as one of the 1st one’s. I know this is an old thread but just wanna say thx for the info! When I read the description of needing a PS3/USB-adapter I was like, “What the deuce?!?..I thought this was already a USB-based item!” But then I read your post & clicked on that link so it made sense, LOL!
I’ve got a dreamGEAR arcade fighter micro & it works fine w/o a USB-hub on a ps3 slim. I mention this b/c all of dreamGEAR’s ps3 controllers & joysticks supposedly requires a USB-hub on a ps3 slim (at least that’s what it says on their official webpage). I emailed them to inquire about this prior to receiving the stick (since they said to do so on their website) but I’ve yet to receive a response since last week. FWIW, my ps3 slim has the latest official firmware.
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I didn’t wanna start up another thread with the same kind of topic in mind.
I have this controller for the PS3, and it works without a USB hub, it comes with one though, but it isn’t necessary.
I like this controller a lot, there’s just one thing about it i’d like to modify if possible.
and that’s the D-pad, I wish it would feel more like a traditional d-pad, and by that I mean, I wish it wasn’t so loose and all over the place
So I was wondering,
could you take the controller apart, and maybe alter the feel of the d-pad,
Maybe use the rubber from another controller to make the d-pad more stable ?
