Wow i checked out his article and youtube vids. It sounds like you might not have to beat the levels to unlock coop, but he was definitely playing on normal in those vids based on his description. I eventually realized that the numbers over their heads are their lives. So someone started that challenge coop session with 5 lives (vs everyone elseās 2) and the gold to continue was 2000 out of the 500,000 they already had. Identifying A-gear didnāt seem to cost more than 1000. I think they were even being fed extra continue lives by the other player in the medusa vid. Couple that with a central hub and i have a feeling coop is gonna be mashing square til someone runs out of gold, then itās off to the hub to farm. Inferno better be actual hard even to the 9 stock 999,999 golders. Pvp looks interesting, but high level aoe spells might be broke. Gotta see what the fighter can do defensively.
Just found out that Dragonās Crown was to be a Dreamcast gameā¦
Mind = fucking blown.
Vanillawareās fantasy role-playing game Dragonās Crown was originally designed for the Sega Dreamcast, according to the gameās art book.
Siliconera reports that the book, which will be packaged with pre-ordered copies of the game, states the idea for Dragonās Crown was initially conceived by Vanillaware president George Kamitani as early as 1998. At the time, the game was designed with 3D models, a difference from the final versionās heavily detailed 2D models.
From what Iāve gathered, they went the way of having randomized qualities.
It would be kind of awesome if we got this, with them being extremely rare, and pretty much tops (but with the creme de la creme still potentially being obscenely uncommon stat rolled rares), and they maybe even got unique looks/art too.
^I really think so. Kirby mentioned that weapons have multiple versions of themselves, with diff level requirements, elem boosts, and status effects. Iām sure that at S rank or above thereāll be some unique goodies.(you may also come across randomly discovered weaps with a killer base state/status effect combo).
Spoiler
He also said there were new monsters on the higher difficulties, so that leads me to think there might be rare drops that only drop off of the newer monsters(though he didnāt mention new bosses, just new mobs)
Ugh, really contemplating on buying a PS3 just for this game. Also some concerns I have:
Other players being able to enter/exit rooms freely. In a couple vids I saw some instances where a room wasnāt completely looted yet the whole party was forced to exit when a single player left the room.
Difficulty. Game looks too easy atm. Also, I really hope Inferno mode is handled well/intelligently i.e I donāt wanna feel as though the game is forcing me to grind Lv.99 or farm for OP gear just to be able compete.
Existence of crazy gear. Hopefully this game doesnāt place a heavy emphasis on loot/equipment. I donāt want obscenely powerful gear.
Hard mode having to be unlocked. Does anybody know if this is true?
@poon: maybe you know about this already but you should consider following this thread as well. Not as active as the one on SRK or Gfaqs but they seem to share a lot of your concerns. Been a member there for a while (joined for senko no ronde DUO stuff, lol) and I know there are a few other SRKers from the shmups thread that are there too. In general, they know their shit and arenāt as horny for vanillaware games like your average gamer.
Gonna have to counter by running dwarf and forming an alliance with Azure to form team grabASS. During PVP I will specifically target ONLY amazons and make it my personal goal to grapple some assā¦like, literaly just hold foward and die tanking all your hits just to get to that booty.
And yeah it does look like hard mode, labyrinth of chaos, pvp, and co-op have to be unlocked.(there is a level cap on each difficulty in the game, I think its 35 for hard mode, 99 for inferno)
Iāve been looking up impressions from people who have the game already, and the general reception seems really positive. Hereās hoping the game takes off.
Oh yeah, a Japanese streamer confirmed that this game supports 1080p as well.
A lot of people are saying itās a 1 to 1 port so theyāre considered identical, I think the only difference is that the Vitaās touch screen directs the thief. I have yet to hear anything about it slowing down on the Vita during multi-play but then again I donāt anyone was able to try it out yet.
