Not to discredit your post but isn’t that the smaller death ball? It got me thinking that if you do something like dash in -> Vanish, the bigger death ball might actually hit.
Also, that doesnt take into account if someone was just mashing Death Ball constantly with instant ki. Frieza threw a Death Ball and waited to be counterattacked. Would I be able to hit them with a charged melee attack before their next Death Ball comes out?
Comeee onnn. One more week
IDK and it’s honestly my favorite Trunks costume. Only thing that makes me hate it is that he fought someone who used a sword and didn’t use one. That would have been the first and greatest sword fight in DBZ (although not canon). I remember Tenkaichi 3 had Teen Gohan’s Goku gi from the movie but not Trunks’ outfit. Such a tease
If you don’t care for things such as this game, why take the time to go attention whoring in this thread? You clearly haven’t seen any of the recent videos, nor have you played the game.
Not sure how known this is but apparently the game doesn’t support Remote Play.
[details=Spoiler]On the PlayStation 3, the issue with remote play was that there was not too many PS3 games that offered it because the support from developers was simply not there. It was an optional function and it was up to the developers to implement it because the PlayStation 3 did not handle it for them.
Developers who chose to add PS3 remote play in their game had to set aside some of the already limited memory and CPU resources in order to have remote play. Since the console’s system memory was already a precious resource, developers were reluctant to part with it just to provide remote play for the PlayStation 3. When creating their game, development teams did not give remote play high priority so it was a feature that was easily dropped.
With the PlayStation 4, it’s a different situation as PS4 remote play support is offloaded to the actual system itself and is not the responsibility of the game developer. This frees developers up to be able to provide at minimum, a proper control scheme for the PS Vita.
Now I know some of you don’t care about Remote Play and/or don’t even have a Vita but it raises the question, why? From what I understand, the PS4 actually handles RP itself. Developers don’t have to do anything but take into consideration the fact that their game may be remote played and add a control scheme for the Vita. For those who don’t know, the PS4’s remote play feature streams games at 720p 30FPS. However, even if this were fighting game such as GGXRD which runs at 60FPS, it is still able to be remote played. Destiny allows remote play as well despite the fact that it’s online only and then has to be streamed to your Vita. Hell, even demos can be remote played.
If I’m understanding this correctly, that means they actually went so far as to disable the feature for some reason. Unless the Vita just doesn’t allow remote play if it can’t find a file for RP controls since they are actually displayed through the Vita’s hardware and aren’t seen on the PS4.
After seeing that and then discussing the fact that some sounds are much louder than others, it really does seem like this is another rushed game. Buying it regardless to support the idea of it but yea…
-No training mode
-Can’t change the CPU difficulty
-Can’t turn off the timer in Versus mode
-Local Versus mode only has 1 stage (World Tournament Arena)
They added stupid characters like Appule instead of Zarbon and Dodoria. Gameplay looks really bad compared to what we’ve seen in previous Dimps games, do you honestly think that this shit looks good?
The «lock on» system is better in Tenkaichi, the camera in multiplayer mode is similar to Naruto which is dumb for a fighting game, you’re constantly missing your opponent when fighting, see at 0:52.
All fine points which you’ve made, I can’t agree with the game design entirely either. I do believe they had arena team based combat in mind when creating it honestly, and less about 1v1.
However, the past 3 games Ultimate Tenkaichi, DBZ Kinect(Ultimate Tenkaichi Copy&Paste with Kinect support) and Battle of Z have all been possibly the worst DBZ games of all time, respectively at the top 3 spots. Xenoverse at least looks like it’s fun, and it doesn’t look like utter garbage like Ultimate Tenkaichi & co, so it’s hard to complain when this is such a step-up from the cancer they’ve been putting out beforehand.
some of these causes for cocern while other really just …what ever. Ultimalty this doesn’t ruined the experience since im pretty sure campaign is the meat of the game.
Hmm… Fair enough. I have a something to ask, though.
Would you EVER have even selected Zarbon or Dodoria, or do you want them there just for the sake of being there? I highly doubt too many people care about characters like them(I know I don’t). Whether or not they’re playable makes no difference to me as it would’ve been like they didn’t exist regardless. If they were fan favorites like Majin Vegeta or Baby, I’d understand, but both you and I know that don’t nobody give a shit about Dodoria.
I noticed the tracking issues, as well as some others like beam specials/ultimates firing off at weird angles. I don’t know how prevalent they are in the final release, but I can’t pass judgement until I actually play it.
Well the characters not auto-aligning when doing melee attacks is something that was in the Network test and made me scared to buy this game. Im pretty sure its still in the final game but Im hoping that I can overlook it and/or it isn’t as bad as I remember.
As for characters like Dodoria and Zarbon, I didnt even notice they weren’t there till someone mentioned them however I do find it odd that they were cut but Appule and Raspberry IIRC made it in when I feel like they’re more forgettable than at least Zarbon.
TBH, I can kinda see what they were going for with keeping some characters out bc they probably felt people wanted their moves more than the characters. Add to the fact that they have character creation and it’s slightly passable as an excuse to not have some characters. I can’t name every single attack I saw but I know they had Salza Blade, for example, as well as Salza’s costume for CaCs. It’s the same shit that the wrestling games do. “We don’t have X but you can make a character that performs and/or looks like X.”
I liked BoZ as a vita game. Felt like a more modern version of legends except you couldn’t swap control of characters mid fight. I’ll probably rent or borrow Xenoverse at some point or maybe if it pops up in a psn flash sale like BoZ did.
I loved playing Zarbon in Budokai 1 and Tenkaichi 3, but they also should’ve added boss characters like Turles, Baby, Bojack, Salza etc…
Tracking issues is a big deal for me, you don’t have this problem in Spike games, if the gameplay was similar to Tenkaichi or Raging Blast i’d have no problem with it. But I think Dimps focused more on the online aspect rather than gameplay, it wouldn’t be the first time they do this, just look at a game like Saint Seiya Brave Soldiers, it’s fanservice and nothing more.
All movie characters besides Broly, Bardock, Whis, and Beerus won’t be in the game…at least not now. There’s three DLC packs and the first one is GT themed. The other two have no info about them.
this really is for single player and online gaming. local versus got nerfs, but its understandable since splitscreen is outside
their priorities, and the rest of the stages are not camera friendly for local matches, and for the space stages, guess they thought
they were too big and people would play keep away too much, making both fighters look really really tiny if they could use those stages.
it’s understandable they don’t want people to exploit infinite timer online, overstressing the servers,
but I agree offline should have infinite timer setting.
As for CPU difficulty, the parallel quests are rank based, so they have a set difficulty to them. people knew since the network test
this wouldn’t have CPU difficulty settings.
Anyways those complaints really are nothing for those that play to play this solo or online anyway.
this will be fun and awesome regardless. and local versus still got a much better deal than Battle of Z
This is my utmost biggest concern with this game. The tracking issues don’t look minor to me, they look like big combo-enders if you unfortunately get tilted a little and end up moving up and over the opponent. If it becomes an issue especially in a laggy environment online I’m going to be seriously bugged at that…the thing I’m most looking forward to is the World Tournament mode in Toki Toki, that looks like a ton of fun and I hope it isn’t dead on arrival.
I think DLC was pre-planned far back in the games development personally, what would they expand on if they included everything immediately? I can see entire sagas around Slug, Cooler(Strongly think we’ll see Cooler), Garlic Jr and stuff down the road. Hopefully they touch on some Dragonball, I love the characters from Dragonball.
EDIT: I’m still pissed they’re making pre-release DLC but I can’t fight the system. Ergh.
@SSJ-Luffy Would you be able to grab the opponent or do a charged melee during this? Im assuming the melee attacks weren’t causing enough stamina decrease but I wonder if it would be possible to keep vanishing before the beam (assuming you have the stamina) and do enough damage to cause his stamina to wipe out. I know you don’t have the game but I figure you’ve probably watched the most out of everyone here
