I think Goku Black Rosé has like 99% chance of being in. He is the best DbS character.

I assume they might concentrate on DBZ only since it’s in the game title itself.

They already have golden frieza. I do think that they will mostly have non super characters tho, which is good because DBS deserves like 2-3 characters at best and GT deserves none.

Golden Frieza comes from a DBZ movie. Which means all characters from movies based on DBZ might make it in the game, but says nothing about DBS (nor GT, thank god).

You need the 3 main villains, you need most of the Z Fighters, a handful of " villain general" characters like Ginyu, Nappa, the Androids, and Dabura, the 3 main movie villains (Broly, Cooler, Janemba), Beerus, and after that you can round out with some outliers like Bardock, Hercule, or even someone like ChiChi who can be like in SDBZ as a weapons-based character, or a Tron Bonne’d version of Bulma.

Agreed. I hope for this first installment they pick characters who’ve held a prominent role throughout DB up to recent Super, and maybe include GT/Heroes/current Super/movie villains/Ginyu force/sidekicks later as DLC or the next edition.

She confirmed that, yes, transformations will be a part of certain characters’ supers (like SSJ3 was with Goku) or installs (like with Freeza), But she did not explicitly de-confirm Blue Goku being a separate character in the same breath. And didn’t have to, because the way the question was asked, she was able to be a bit more evasive and non-committal about it. It’d also fly right in the face of a guy I know on GAF who both was aware of this game’s existence months prior and said he saw Goku Blue as his own character slot, months ago. Which would make sense, because Super Blue is not just a transformation, it’s a separate version of Goku who reflects how the character has evolved in Super, and so uses different techniques that reflect that much.

Well there we go, I finally have something to nitpick about this game. Wasting a slot on the same character instead of getting someone new, probably with reused assets. Arcsys don’t Capcom us pls.

Given ASW history with “clones” i am not really worried.
Order Sol and Sol are 2 completely different beasts, the same for Ky and Robo-Ky.

yea but thats cause they have creative license with those characters. Its best they stay away from more saiyans and frieza stooges lest they want 80% of the game to look exactly the same.

Bulma, ChiChi, Dabura, Fat Janemba, and Babadi can make for unique characters. But there is no way you can make Zarbon, or trunks, not just look the same as everyone else.

You made it sound like other games have problems making their characters unique even when all they do is punching, kicking, special techniques and in some cases using weapons/swords

I’m using ASW standards for different characters.

The one thing i always hated about DBZ is how samey every one was up until about the buu sage/super. I understand the mass appeal and i know they are going to do what they can with the game, but damn son. If this was hunter x hunter i would have preordered the shit already without even looking at the gameplay, now i gotta have concerns and shit. I always have my reserves when it comes to DBZ games. Looks good so far though.

Oh hell naw… You don’t get to “have concerns” about a game with this level of care and detail put into it, while pre-ordering the game with Meth addict Dante and rat-faced Chun-li.

Basically like Ginyu what Ginyu did, but unlike Ginyu Zamasu/Black was able to tap into Goku’s powers.

Though Black also has several moves unique to him.

The two movies, battle of the gods and the frieza one are basically redone as episodes in Super. So they are in the super “timeline”. There is a whole arc in super about Frieza.

He is pretty much the only bad guy in Super that is legit a true asshole, beside Frieza but he is an old character.

First arc with Beerus is basically an excuse for Goku to get god powers, Beerus turns into comic relief, Hit is not a nice guy but he isn’t into killing millions and whatnot, Frieza is not a super specific character and the rest I don’t even remember because it was garbage.

I like the Japanese version of kai, it follows the Manga better than the original anime series did and I don’t have to wait a long ass time for Goku to get thru snake way or for him to attain his super saiyen form in the frieza arc.
