I mean, that’s how I prounouce Kamehameha. It rolls off the tongue
I don’t care either way, but I’ve known some Dbz heads that got insanely triggered when they hear that pronunciation lol. Maybe calling it super turtle wave will do the trick.
So they people they pick to promote the game, ffs they got two xenoversers players to o some of the worst commentary I’ve heard
Xhominid: Evil_Canadian: quicks: otter:dude should not be stirring up “shill” arguments voluntarily. the release is going so well atm…
its not shilling if people like the game
Marvels launch has taught me that yes, yes it is shilling if you like the game.
I only call it shilling when people have something at stake and that the game must succeed for them, then that’s shilling.

They are still DBZ fans so it’s not like it matters. And I wouldn’t exactly call that shilling compared to the shilling of MvC:I and SF5…
It’s funny because the term fireball is actually ignorance on the part of FGC when we were all youngsters in the arcades.
They have in fact always been ki blasts going back to the days of SF2:WW

Lore up son.
His flame is a power given to him by tapping into the power i.e LIFE FORCE of the god Agni.

its prob because people like this lol
by habit I will always call Chun’s Hyakurestu Kyaku “Lightning Leg” because that’s what Gamepro called it back in the day. In fact we still use the terms DP (Dragon Punch) in high level play. Bison’s Knee Press is still called Scissors Kick (another Gamepro term) as well, and even got used in an official capacity in the US port of MSHvSF. That’s why we still call Fireballs what they are.
Hurricane Kick is RIP though.
Well according to page 16 of the SF2 World Warriors Super Nintendo Manual it is called either fireball or an energy wave. Soooooo suck it.

Well then you need to lore up son, cause Dhalsims flames are actually illusions, it only hurts because people think they are being hit by fire.
still a fireball though
Yup. That part is correct. Also Dragon Punch is correct. So is Hurricane kick. It is nearly a direct translation.
Yeah just cause a name is in japanese doesn’t mean its any better
I have heard Special Beam cannon decried cause it doesn’t sound as elegant as “makankosappo”
but that shit translates to Demonic Piercing Light Murder Gun, its just as dumb. So Special beam cannon it is!!!
Lord forbid many people who love japanese version actually learn what kamehameha translates to.
The Viz Manga actually changed the name of Piccolo’s attack:

I guess they felt that was more simple and straightforward than the actual translation.
Special Beam Cannon is a great name (might be nostalgia talking, but I like it) and so is Spirit Bomb
who the fuck cares!
