Dude we KNOW if all the destruction orbs had beam status then Beerus would be god tier and VERY in fun to fight against. Arc did this to make the game better to play.
ya i know I mentioned that it probably would be, but its interesting to note because its a clear example for us to try to show just how far we can take deflecting etc in the first place since vs him we would have so many reasonable opportunities to do so. Also in a way kinda āsucksā potentially for the fanboys of him since hes supposed to be a god, and depending on how reasonable it is to react to, you could potentially just dumb him and stop him from doing everything. But ya will see how realistic this thing is once we get more footage and or play the game ā¦
Also thank you to lockM for disliking all my posts recently. I know it must have really hurt you as well that ive been right about everything constantly over and over and over and over again. I purposely post like this just for little fucks like you actually to annoy you even more.
Forcing people to block lets Beerus start his pressure. Itās a deal similar to Piccoloās fireball, you donāt want to just throw this out in neutral without something to cover homing dashes. And besides, the single Beerus ball seems reasonably fast enough to set before your opponent can just HD in.
The full set definitely isnāt something youāll get without a setup.
This is what im trying to get at im not sure how else to explain. Im not trying to say I dont think hes gonna be able to do anything. Obviously he has a option and a playstyle that no one else has right now. That counts for something. But as it is the game specifically gives you something to counter him. Im trying to say, in some situationsā¦ him setting it upā¦ Might not matter. So for the time being lets forget what I said in the last post. Lets assume it is to fast and has good recovery to ever react to. Lets imagine there is okizeme in the game and he has hard knock downs up the wazoo.
Right now, in current builds of the game. If you are in block stun from a move that counts as a fireball, you can cancel this otherwise true block stun into a homing dash or a deflect. There is no timing. You can just do it. Once you have done this you become completely invincible. This is not like going for a regular deflect where it must be timed and recovery matters. You are in true block stun, you can cancel it into a deflect it is considered successful. So what I was saying in the first post, can we confirm, that like other games, when you block a attack in the air, lets even say games like other arcs system works games, I guard in the air, when i landā¦ I can actually alpha counter/dead angleā¦ Even though I blocked the attack in the air, when I land. I can alpha counter.
So the idea and thought is, even if beerus sets this up, instead of sitting back letting him come to us we purposely rush forward jump and block. There are no fast throws in this game, no air throw meta so this is already gone. if we see a fireball in the air, instead of backing away letting him start his shenanigans we rush forward, jump and block the fireball. If he tries to tap tap tap whatever air attack us in the air thats fine, cant be hit by a high low mix up in the air. So thats fine. But if we block the fireball and then hit the ground, if deflect follows the rules of other games which again im asking do we have confirmation that this does not work? Because everything so far would lead us to believe its true. We hit the ground, we deflect then when we hit the ground. We technically are still in block stun from a fireball. And when we deflect, we are now invincible even if beerus does try to come in for any kind of mix up untill we decide what WE want to do.
Do you see the idea meta im getting at? Im not sure something else visually to compare it to. A not very good one perhaps, but is say do you ever play guilty gear? Have you ever seen situations where potemkin say flicks a fireball, a big yellow slow moving fireball comes out trying to force the opponent into the corner allowing potemkin to get in. There are certain situations where if this happens, if you can react to it, the person that shot the fireball, instead of backing away allowing potemkin to walk in under cover. Immediately runs forward and blocks the fireball flick before potemkin has recovered to really start anything and it just actually instead resets the flow of the match. And that can be better obviously than just letting yourself be pushed to the corner.
So ya thats what im trying to say, again not saying I think it has no value. But rather this actually gives us a good opportunity to see just how far you can push this deflect mechanic because you could potentially make it hard to use for him. Us blocking doesnt HAVE To be bad. We because of the properties of the game might be able to make it not matter at all. Plus going by the videos I cant say for sure as well, but it would appear that the balls also take away beerus smash abilities as well if they have hit. As that seemed to be the case in one of the videos. But ill have to see it happen again to confirm.
Max metioned when Adult Gohan uses his Unleash Power he has access to chains no one else does. I wish he elaborated on that more, I think he mentioned his actual chains work differently than other characters. Can he reverse gatling combo like in Under Night In Birth? Lol.
Also kinda unrelated but it legit warms my heart to finally hear the english dub. It put a smile on my face: ) Plus Matt Mercer as Hit is probably the best idea Funimation has had since, I dunno.
Apparently reading TvTropes, thereās Light-Mediun-Heavy combo chains like in most other fighting games, if Gohan gets a full 7 bar fillup for his Mystic/Ultimate install, heās able to say fuck you to that style and say go Heavy-Light-Medium confirm chain or whatever the player wants.
Well the gohan thing makes sense since he doesnt have a beat emāsuper which usually he getsā¦ Guess this is what they gave him instead. Also not to out of the question as we already have chain combos in a sense that go backwards in this game. because you can do hard to fireball button or fireball to hard endlessly back and forth with the characters already. Again unless that changes
Personally I still dont get the power up super. Didnt seem to work like the japanese were saying that I read. Guess they changed it or something else
So in that regards, they reflect the DBZ fanbase perfectly
Anyway Iām really glad that Hit is still a Counter based character. That was by far the coolest thing about how he was handled in XV2, being a defensive fortress of reflexes to easily call predictable people out.
