Random gameplay meta discussion thoughts after going through and watching some more of those beta videos from the japanese one etc …
Cell can actually link his stand mkXn till you get pushed out. Which is actually pretty awesome to know because ive been fearing the game will have no links. But hopefully this shows theres gonna be some in the game after all.
Apparently linking after trunks power gyser takes away a smash curiously. So like vegetas sorta horizontal dive kick piccolos grab and perhaps other moves… Just doing it stand alone even if you try to hard after there will be no smash effect. Although this doesnt have to be a problem anyway really since we know trunk can hard, to fireball, back to hard id assume you could power gyser, then do something like hard, fireball, hard, fireball, hard till you get pushed out, then we know you can do a attack to jump special and a jab will link, so we can use that to link then do a big air combo. Still havnt seen if you can jump special more than once in the air which would be good to know for potential loops etc…
Speaking of hard, fireball, hard etc. Havnt seen it but a thought for someone like cell that has that fireball that dashes forward, I wonder if vs big characters if he can also do this, so hard, dash fireball, hard Xn, or at least till they get to the corner that would be pretty neat…
Speaking of going back and forth. Saw a freeza do fireball, duck fireball(which rolls you back)fireball a few times over and over… Which is pretty interesting since he actually kinda is running away while constantly shooting you like this since you can cancel in and out of it.
Which leads me to actually a thought about the meta, we know you can fly out of block and parry, which should discourage people from just shooting fireballs even as block strings… but thinking about it if you are far away enough with stuff like this freeza thing this guy did shouldnt you just be able to react to the fly cancel out of block to your duck hard since you can cancel fireballs with duck hard in the first place. So maybe then you go back to trying to find good moves to cancel your block parry with. Also said it before but you can deff as far as I can see cancel your parry instantly with any attack.
If you cancel cells auto combo on the last hit with a special when it doesnt grab he continues to slide forward while doing the special
Weird apparent bug where if goku does a super fireball, and it doesnt hit the last hit that makes the guy fly away and they fall down, although they will stand up and visually can block they will get hit. Very strange not sure why this would happen, if it was really because of something goku did or the way the opponent was hit. I watched it multiple times and slowed it down but ya seems to break the opponents guard and is unblockable. Again with out the game cant test, but I deff caught it while watching. Seems like should be pretty easy to recreate to say for why it happened for sure.
Not sure if this is old or not but cant recall seeing it, apparently 18 can throw her distructo discs at the ground?
Also 17 assist with barrier doesnt build meter for you
Gohans rapid kick special even with out EX combos to full screen fireball to combo afterwords. Wonder if everyone can do this so generously
Still havnt seen anyone off hand show if you can do the hard, fireball, hard loops in the air or not like you can on the ground. Ill assume because not intuitive to mash or try like that in the first place though so hard to say if it works or not…
And on a final note you knowing thinking about it, the fuzzy gaurd mix ups in this game should be pretty strong across the board consider everyones d+hard in the air or whatever version they have makes them float a bit and do it. So high low fuzzy guard stuff to low or D+hard smash to hover in the air for a split second to big combo should be pretty good.
