Man, I’m almost 40 hours in and I’ve only unlocked 33% of the map and completed about 16% of the content 0_o

Anyone else not too hot on the graphics? Compared to Oblivion, Dragon Age looks like ass. Kinda weird for a Bioware game. Love the blood splatter on the characters though.

why are you comparing this to oblivion? And since when does making your characters look like they have plastic skin make a game better visually lol?

I consider them very similar games. I don’t know, I guess I just have a bad habit of looking out for poor textures. The character renders are really lacking too.

But they aren’t anything like each other lol. What platform are you playing on? I’m running it on PC with Very High settings and it looks really good lol

I mean there are certain spots that look iffy(rubble and filth piles) but other than that I don’t see how it’s a bad looking game…

its not a bad looking game but it isnt a super gorgeous one either

I have the XB360 version. Maybe the console versions got the rough end of the stick?

Really the 2 biggest loses one of which is just because it isn’t PC is this.

  1. No top down view, why this couldn’t be on console is confusing. There is no reason there shouldn’t at least be an option for it.

  2. Macro control, obvious why this isn’t on the console. Instead of having to flip through pages of spells and abilities they are all right there on the bottom of your screen for you to click.

Oblivion sure had better textures. Too bad character models in that game were poorly animated. Everyone moves like Cardboard planks with legs in Bethesda games.

At least in Dragon Age, things feel more fluid, even if the textures aren’t that great. But even then, Allistair is rockin some sick armor and looks like a badass to me.

I think the worst looking thing in the game are some faces. But I hardly care. Otherwise, It looks gorgeous to me.

you can’t zoom out to a tactical view? that’s B.S.

yeah it definitely is. it makes aiming harder for no reason

LOL @ comparing da to oblivion (fucking enemy scaling FTL.)

The detail isn’t so great because this game has been in development for a while and the infinity engine apparently aged poorly with little updates however the animation and especially art direction still make it look like a very pretty game.

Having 3 mages on your team sucks and rocks at the same time lol.

see i would think ideal group would be 1 healer mage, 1 dps/snare mage tank and melee rogue(bard assasin/ranger) what do you guys think?

Dragon age has been in development for over 5 years. It does not use the Infinity Engine.

The last game that ever used the Infinity Engine was Icewind Dale II.

That was a half joke -_-

Frame rate/performance issue on X360 & PS3. Bioware wanted the top down view to be in consoles but after much try they just can’t make it work due to unacceptable frame rate/lag, so they removed it.

Fuck the templar nightmare fucking little midget freezes me n kills m e 2 seconds later all I have are lightning n fire spells:mad:

Those mobs are annoying.

You got cone of cold and force field? Very powerful spells. (Borderline broken tbh, but it’s single player so OP spell isn’t an issue lol)

One of the Denerim Market fights is absolutely killing me. I’m getting mobbed by something like 17 bandits at once I think. It’s hard to calculate how many there are but at least 10 of them are archers. I really have no idea how to beat this fight.

I have inferno, and chain lightning which rape everything but she’s immune to both fire and electricity but then I remembered I had spirit form and spammed winters grasp until she was dead lol.

Iren if you’re playing a mage get the AoE spells they are gdlke provided the enemy isn’t immune tot he type you have, if you don’t then use debuffs, traps, or any kind of lures the hit n runaway tactic is great to separate groups and get your party to concentrate on the same target obviously.
