Hey yall. I dont play Cammy, but im just curious if theres any particular reason I dont see Cammy players using the Sako combo anymore…yeah…I thought it got easier in AE too ?
You don’t? I always do it though, when I got the chance.
Maybe in AE where her normals are better, there are more combos to choose from. Pre AE, Cammy’s punish are more limited. Also, since her buffs to her normal, there are better punishes against certain characters. For example, against Honda, you can do jump in > cl.st HP > cr HP > cr Mk > HK Spiral. Against shotos, jump in > cl.st HP > cr Mp > cr Mk > HK SA does more damager than Sako combo.
Then, there’s also the risk/return ratio. More aversive players tend to stick to easier combos to reduce the risk of dropping combos. Kindevu’s Cammy fits under this category.
Still, Sako combo remains as useful. The best punish against Blanka is still the Sako combo for example.
I’d say if you don’t see Cammys going for optimal combos, or at least try, then maybe you haven’t met a good Cammy player that understands how to play her?
I don’t want to sound like I’m judging or telling people how to play their game though. Just speculating since it could be anything really.

Im referring to when Ive watched KBrad / JP Cammys…I havent seen someone go for sako combo in a tournament setting in a while…that being said, I realize now that Cammy has combos post AE that do more damage than Sako, so its understandable. How many frames do you have to link cl.st.hp > far.hp ? It feels like a 2 framer to me, but im not sure. Just curious.
It’s a 1 frame link. If you plink, then it naturally feel like a 2 frame.

EX Strike, st.cl.hp, st.far.lp, st.far.hp xx Spiral (hk = 1hit, use mk for damage = 301dmg)

hehe, but didn’t know that far hp will be special cancelable from THAT far.
Recently picked up Cammy and while I can get the link from Cr.HP to cr.MK fairly consistently, cr.MK won’t link or even connect blockwise if I do cl.mp before the cr.HP. Is there a trick to it or am I just doing cr.MK too late?

The jab hits on the last active frame giving +8 on hit.
Also works with jump-ins,EX strike, and when he is dizzy.

Double fierce = cl.st.hp, st.hp xx hk arrow. .? Yes this is char specific and stand/crouch specific.
Example:
On ryu he must be standing (no need for initial hit jump attack or ex tkcs)
On juri it only works on crouch juri.
On viper and Sakura. Doesn’t matter this combo works if they stand or crouch.
On sagat = this combo doesn’t work. But alternative max damage is crhp, st.far.hp xx hk arrow.
Etc…
The combo u mentioned is char/stand specific with initial hit.
On stand bison = ex tkc, cl.st.hp, crhp, crmk xx mk arrow.
On Abel (stand or cr doesn’t matter) = Ex tkcs , cl.st.hp, cr.hp, far.st.mp xx mk arrow.
Etc etc etc…

What are the top punishing combos for cammy? I know she has a few punish combos, and almost all seem to be character specific. I tried looking at Alioune’s optimized combo thread, but the entire cast isnt listed. As of right now, Im using Sako combo (on the characters I know it works on…im not even positive if Ive got all the characters), cl.st.hp, far.st.hp xx HK SA, and cr.hp, cr.mk xx HKSA. Basically if I know I cant land sako on whatever character, I just go for the double fierce combo. Is it really worth learning every characters best punish combo ? It seems like a shit ton to learn, and I dont think all of that is consolidated on the boards.
I really do want to take my punish game to the next level, but I have no idea where to find this information. could someone either re-direct me to a consolidated thread, or help me out with combo listings ?

Sako (or variation)
Triple fierce (or triple cr. fierce )
Triple fierce + ender ( ^^)
With a few particular exceptions
