Dr.B's Lab - My CvS2 Advice and Strats

when they dont’ have bar, get in and mix in some madness. once they get bar, turtle your ass off while keeping them on their toes with some offense. keep that defense strong though. just remember once they are out of bar, get in and rush them down and mix shit up.

when they jump at it, keep them confused, if they like to jd, throw out some jabs and mix it up with DPs.

it hurts to trade hits with raged K-groover, but it hurts more to get gaurdcrushed and eat super. so dont’ be completely afraid to throw out shit once in a while. defense strong and offense here and there. mix it up well.

how do u beat c groove when they dont roll cancel, and sit on one button anti airs like sagat, ryu, ken

A-todo does really well against K-groove. aside from the guard crush custom, intelligent RC waves are good for a couple big reasons. they can’t be rolled through, and you have to JD each individual hit which is nearly impossible (which is different from P-groove, where one auto parry takes care of the entire wave.

when fighting k-groove i usualy try to pick at what moves the person likes to jd, that way i know how to bait it out to punish it the right way. its just about knowing how the read the player right, once you learned that you can do some pyshic shit on them :). throw a few empty pokes in to see how hte person reacts to each move. everyone has a certain pattern they tend to use against all players.

Hey when you’re dizzy and your opponent comes in for a throw can you tech it or are you boned?

K groove Akuma Thoughts?

Scrub character.
Best in C A N.

Um…I was kinda thinking K-groovers know when to mix up JDing and anti-airing, option selecting JDs and attacks…since all the supers are level 3s…and the bar lasts for a whole shitload of time, getting a super in is not that hard. Even if you don’t get the super, 3 raged hits usually hurt as bad as like a level 2 at least. A-Sak and Todo are difficult to play against…but it’s not free rapage by any means. Playing the matchups a lot helps to figure out how to fight them, but it’s ultimately up to the players. I’ll beat the fuck out of a shitty Sak player just looking to cc my ass.

WTF Allen? Hella hating on your former groove. Nice sig, though. I feel loved.

K-Akuma is decent…Ashley Hernandez…I think it was him who picked on our East Bay gang at Evo. He’s tricky, and can rush…or play defensive and rape with super. The ability to rush, turtle, and switch styles basically anytime gives Akuma (and anyone in K, really) constant pressure tactics. It’s quite fun to play characters in their “shitty” grooves. You don’t know if it’s shitty until you try it yourself.

Wow, I love K-groove.

walk forward and stop jumping straight at them?

As a fellow K Groover I like your input. I’m never afraid of the A-Sak matchup, I just make sure not to do anything stupid like do an obvious small jump. Get them in a specific range and always throw them when they try to roll in, or jump back if you’ve reacted too late. If I land a throw or knockdown against Sak, I like to run in and bait out an activation. The hardest thing to deal with in my opinion is her crossing you up and activating… other than that all her moves and specials are easy to JD.

I remember playing you @ the first NCR, I was a scrub then but your Morrigan still held it down lol. How do you deal with A-Bison?
