DP shortcut input/accidental super output

Hi forum,

Most Ryu players like myself know that the shortcut input for DP’s is 3-2-3 punches. I certainly use this input a lot and sometimes if I’m holding down-back, I input 1-2-3-2-1-2-3, which is a little messy but it works. My problem is if I have super the super comes out some of the time. I don’t know if it’s because when I walk forward and react to my opponents jump-ins and use this input that the forward gets buffered into this motion and thus super comes out or what, but I genuinely would like some advice. Hopefully I’m not being too vague.

just tested it out, no matter if u use downback in your shortcut motion, or if you also are walking forward then use your shortcut motion with downback included it should never super if the final move is df.

The super comes out because you finish the input with a forward motion. If you want to guarantee a DP, you have to finish with df.
