I m planning to use both Painwheel (Main) and Double (Back up) team but first i gotta know what playstyle does Double fits the most? From gameplay videos i seen, i would say she fits as an offensive/defensive character with tools to counter pressure games. You guys agree?
Ideas, combos, or team synergy thoughts from any of you PS3 players?
I’m running Painwheel on point with Double anchor, its working nicely, Double’s slide assist is great for painwheel flight mixups.
I’m pretty ass at creating combos, my crappy BNB now is: lp, mp, hk, jump, j.MP, j.HP, land, st.LP, st.MP, st.HP xx qcf.PP or qcf.KK
i know she can do more than that though, im trying to use the Fridge drop in a combo but it’s hard.

My day 1 no meter combo. Probably something better that’s just what I found after 15min. Still pretty good damage and uses lots of her combo options

This one forces a stand for some reason, otherwise I’d go back to the Cr.HP part.
I’ll work on incorporating some of the stuff from the video above when I wake up and see what I can get though.
in the corner if you can confirm the first hit of J. Fierce you can Teacup.
also you can loop jumping Round house in the corner.
I tend to look for
short (because it has better poking range imo)-> forward(x2)->J foward(both hits)-> Roundhouse-> J. Fierce( till the second hit)-> J. Round house-> QCF Fierce -> Beheaded assist-> Round house-> Fridge/ or Oil canister-> Subzero slide-> [insert ender here]
It’s successes where about two out of seven. still need some better timing I think both times were in the corner. if it were mid screen the second launch if it reached would have to be followed with J. Fierce I believe
Just want to add that after the cr. HP you can cancel into the cerebella but smash (r. mika anyone?) and the parasoul shot for a tad bit more damage before doing her super. Note that the level 3 can only hit after a special only if the opponent is in the corner. if you want the level 3 to hit from mid screen, omit the specials.
I’ve been messing around with this as my no meter bnb, uses valentines H dash special as an assist:

on knockdowns i can’t combo off of i like double jump hk tea cup it’s pretty difficult to tell where the tea cup is going to land
*actually just j.hp on wake up is pretty good because while you’re dropping as peacock that counts as a hit but some times it whiffs depending on timing so you could whiff and go low
i just realized what this said, so when the 5hp[bella’s punch] hits and sends them flying val brings them back?

Any super works. Car for quick damage cats for pressure or level 3 for damage. If you have meter to burn you could also use level 5.

You can dash and do an otg normal after fridge but I don’t think it’s worth it because you’ll run into ips within a few moves and used your only otg.

we were thinking the same thing but your combo does a bit more dmg. you can add an otg shot before the super btw to make it 5540 something with the car.
if you time the assist right and it hits when they are in midair as opposed to calling it late and val hitting them as an OTG, yes!
Same combo as above, but instead of val, using Cerebella’s cerecopter as assist in the corner. you can relaunch and go into j.lk j.mk(2 hits) qcb+mk xx bandwagon. I think i like double/cerebella much better than double/val right now. my best combo using dynamo dhc to band did about 9k+
Also, I just discovered that if instead of the fridge, you do a j.hk, you can do an easy ambiguous crossunder or jump and airthrow. Depending on how fast you chain, you can make them fall faster and get locked down by the bird. So you can go low, call cats and go for chip, position for a throw or go for a crossup j.mp. I’m not sure how character specific this is. I’ve gotten both situations on Filia, Valentine and Cerebella, so the only characters it might not work on are Peacock and Double.
I think a lot of tricky stuff like this is around for Double. She doesn’t have as much mobility as most characters and she can’t really zone, but if she gets in she’s got mixups for days.
Jumpin HK whiff - Throw is a silly mixup.
So for all the people who have played double, how does she feel? Like whats the closest comparison you can come up with? She looks mad interesting to say the least, and she has herself a nice selection of hypers to say the least.

Lots of heavy normals, and Flip the Bird is probably the highest damage normal in Double’s arsenal (Unless it causes extra scaling, I can’t read the damage on this shitty CRT I’m playing on)
Either way, it’s not too hard to do once you get the timing for a couple spots, and it looks totally boss. You can end it with Barrel and lead into OTG > Level 3 or assists and stuff. If you OTG, I don’t think you can use anything in your hit-confirm, but I haven’t checked yet.
Seems she can relaunch by herself midscreen thought she’d need a buddy for that
Yeah she’s good mid screen I guess j.hp doesn’t have a lot of push back plus she’s moving forward.
I think double feels really good, not too sure who I would compare her to. You can find similarities but she feels pretty original
then again I haven’t played every char in most of the games I play let alone the ones I don’t play
