I recently started playing Dota 2, used to play League but I’ve seen the light
I found my favorite hero reaaaal quick, a bit sloppy at one point because I should’ve right clicked instead of attack moved at one instance cause it would’ve been a triple in one shot
I’ve been playing a bunch of bot games recently. For the past few months, I’ve only really been playing Crystal Maiden well enough to be comfortable in actual games, and I’ve been wanting to increase my pool of heroes for a while. Played around with Drow, Razor, and Legion Commander recently, and the only one I didn’t really get was Razor. I feel like I may not have built him correctly or maybe played him less aggressive than I should’ve. Anyone have any suggestions?
QoP and Shadow Fiend were good stepping stones for me to get comfortable with this game, they’re pretty straightforward and bring a lot to the table
You build Razor tanky. If no one else is going to get one, build a Mek, push down towers. You can get Aghs to knock down towers faster, or armor items like AC or Shiva’s. A BKB, too, so you can keep up static link in team fights and get more right clicks off.
The whole point of Razor in early game is to link up with the opposing mid/offlaner and basically drive them out of lane. He’s a natural lane-winner. He doesn’t farm particularly fast, though, so you got to make the most of your early advantage.
Also, lol s4 back in Alliance. If he really thinks that’s the right place for him, then sure, but on paper it just sounds underwhelming, especially after Mad’s comments about his ex-teammates.
Yeah S4 going back to Alliance is a mistake for him as a player. I’m not sure if he’s doing it more for personal reasons but if he couldn’t get them to work last time, I’m not sure what he thinks will work this time. Loda and Akke have not adapted to the meta in the last two years, so it’s doubtful they’ll change now. Bulldog is good and solid at least. MyNuts has potential and has played with Alliance in the past, but overall the team is very underwhelming. S4 deserves better, IMO.

Most overrated buff award probably goes to Batrider. Everyone complains that he can’t farm fast enough anymore and now all of a sudden another item that he apparently HAS to farm now makes him viable? I don’t get it.
You need 9700 net worth MINIMUM (Tranq boots, Blink, Force, Aghs) by the time you purchase an Aghs to be “viable”. Bat’s problems still exist such as poor laning, poor jungling, below average recovery, and other shit I’m probably missing. While he did get some buffs, they’re hardly enough for him to return to the meta… which sucks because I really like the hero.
Techies nerfs tho. PRAISE ICE FROG.
Not only did Icefrog nerf storm spirit he nerfed the bloodstone too. Good, I hate the electric Mexican.
The way I see it now, SF, TA, Wingranger, and QoP will rule mid. I think Lina and ember is situational.

Ogre Magi gonna be second phase pick/ban, Nightstalker gonna be a much more viable offlaner, and Invoker buffs are gonna be the big points of this patch. Mark my words.
Not sure about Ogre Magi. He still has the issue of Fireblast pretty much being a melee range spell, and is very RNG dependent until he gets an Aghs, and the timing of the Aghs is pretty important on him as a support (core Ogre is a waste IMO). The Bloodlust buff on towers is pretty lolz though.
Maybe an Ogre who buys OoV and walks up to enemies using right clicks + Ignite will be more viable?
I can’t decide which change is funnier: Bloodlust on towers or Stifling Dagger bashing from 1200 range.
I’ve heard people discussing alternative Batrider builds that prioritize maxing Flamebreak over Firefly. It does do decent damage with a few stacks of Napalm. Maybe Bat will make a comeback of sorts.
Someone postulated about the PA/AA lane. Since Chilling Touch affects Dagger now, you can get a ludicrous nuke on a single digit cool down for 15 mana. The more I hear about it, the harder I get.
Lina Lagunas WK before ult 3 times in crucial fights, Nyx never mana burns WK and I think this is the game that makes me quit mobas altogether I can’t handle this particular tilt fuck this game

he ended up being a problem for me personally only once, I bought back, BoTd to bot lane and wiped out their rax, but in the process took about 10 remotes to the face, dropping me to critical. would’ve been fine, but they had a TP.
don’t get me wrong, I hate techies too, but if anything he was a bridge to it being a long game, which I thought would’ve benefited us…apparently not.
Those techies nerfs feel like sweet, sweet victory as someone who plays support a lot.
