Valve deliberately staggers their release. They could put all of them out tomorrow if they felt like it.
damn, nice man, enjoy yourself and stay out of trouble. keep some notes so in case we want to go in the future we can learn from your experience.
TI4 play ins begins today, boys! 1v1 championships (lol). Group stages start either today or tomorrow.
Just saw a live testing of Techies and I assume he’s going to be released later this month or next month. He’s really going to make a huge change to the game.
By huge change you mean ruin all pub games and never have an impact in competitive play?
Flying out to Seattle today. TI4 semi-finals begins tomorrow. I’m a bit disappointed that people who bought GA/floor seat tickets see much less games overall compared to last year, but I’m super hype nonetheless! GET HYPE, BOYS.
Can’t wait to see Midas first Techies because of RTZ. New meta.
anyone on srk still play a lot, cus this thread is hella dead lol.
I just got back into this after like 5 years. I really love the shop changes, some hero redesigns really took a while like skeleton king turning into wraith king but im slowly liking em
Shit got real. Techies are here.
Other updates in the patch are more interesting than Techies.
I do.
Yo nice, I never knew there was a dota thread.
But I’ve been out of the loop for so long, it’s crazy that the North American scene is huge now thanks to dota 2.
And when I watch dota 2 videos with commentary, it’s crazy how much technical stuff is talked about now. In wc3 dota, most players played by feel. Really nostalgic, kinda reminds me of how fighting game OGs feel about how FGs are played today.
you’d be surprised how critical the viewers are of the casters.
techies sucks
Still gonna play him though I guess
Does dota 2 also have stream monsters lol
Like in marvel 3, there’s a whole bunch of people who watch streams and call out bullshit in the game like “why can’t the other person block Zero’s lightning on incoming”
EDIT: also to be fair there are some people who really bring out the cheap in Techies, at least when I used to play wc3 dota (couple of versions back tho so some things may have changed, plus I think there are some things in dota 2 that never existed in wc3 dota)
Basically the rest of the team roams heavily and lets a carry tag along for xp and gold, while Techies covers their empty lanes with mines before the enemy team pushes too far. As the roam group gains space from eventual td’s, Techies moves mines further along, effectively securing space like a safety net to catch enemy push attempts if a gank or clash fails. If done right, it’s pretty suffocating for the enemy team.
He plays really differently ofc (and boring), laning is pure shit because his damage is shit, the most action you’re gonna get in a gank is setting up some mines a few minutes beforehand. The entire game all you do is run back and forth from fountain to lane and lay remote mines for defense and regular mines for gank traps and rune spot vision.
Can’t compare Dota stream to Capcom Fighter streams.
Dota is fucking huge, you won’t read anything except for walls of Kappa because there’s like 200k+ people watching streams of big tournaments.
That’s what free to play, pc exclusive, great online and not ripping customers off does for your game, while fighting game events and player bases are still ghetto except for EVO once a year.
My boy was running him yesterday in ranked and did very very well. Probably because people didn’t know how to deal with him.
