freedom is one intangible concept and morality is another intangible concept. having an abundance of intelligence will not turn wrongs into rights. being smarter than everyone else doesn’t mean he should be able to do as he pleases. his actions are still subject to scrutiny (and justification on his part) by any means. if said smartest man commits murder or rape and is able to cover it up using his intelligence, is that not immoral just because he was able to justify himself? no. murder is murder and rape is rape-- no matter what the situation or excuse, both are punishable by law.
I would love to money match clockwork but hes west coast and i am east coast, if i am some how able to get to evo then i will definitely do it. And maybe i didn’t write it but im pretty sure i said for the time being im out of the country. ive only been here for 2 weeks, and ill be returning to the US on the 11th. before the 20th of june ive been playing nearly everyday and went to a couple east coast tournements. i lost to chris G and Sanford but if you ask them im not bad. I’ve also played diosX online in a random rank match where we happened to meet he won but by a small margin and on a laggy connection (not at all either of our faults we are just long distance again).
no it does not. philosophical questions have no right or wrong answer. we can only speculate to a degree in which our answer seems plausible.
Try and fathom how smart someone can be… oh wait you can’t because human potential is infinite. morality is subjective therefore it has nothing to do with intelligence. How can you, who knows nothing compared to a man who knows everything, possibly know what is truly right or wrong? that is the question. Your citing murder or rape as examples, what makes you think such a man wouldn’t have a reason beyond your comprehension as to why he would do something like that if he were to do it. You have to realise ‘morals’ and ‘freedom’ are things you learn about, intelligence is something your born with and you cannot enhance or control it.
i already know that in your next post your going to give a faulty definition of intelligence so let me beat you to the punch:
capacity for learning, reasoning, understanding, and similar forms of mental activity; aptitude in grasping truths, relationships, facts, meanings, etc. (Dictionary.com)
this means people can be born with a limited capacity for understanding subjects, which also means some people are just naturally more intelligent then others, its not that they learned more its that they are able to grasp topics more efficiently.
This doesn’t really help. I think everyone needs to take a step back, breathe a bit, and be a group of people who share an interest again.
Day1 thinks he’s the best - if he’s right, great. If he’s wrong, he’ll figure that out eventually. Regardless, he’s just another person who shares an interest in Doom and he apparently has a lot he’d like to share. Examine it, expand upon it, and decide whether or not you’d like to apply it to your Doom strategy.
awww, I know, but that would’ve killed the fun. loljk. but yeah, on topic, shouldn’t this be merged with the existing doom combo thread anyways? I don’t think people are gonna be posting too many doom combos that it should warrant its own thread, imo. and as far as combos are concerned, I think we need to be working on better wall carry combos since, as we’ve all seen, clock’s doom is damn ridiculous with his corner pressure and combos and I think we should all try to go in that direction when playing doom.
im glad liquid is one of the few members here who actually look for the advise in my posts instead of just wanting to challenge me on how good i am. i never wanted to make it about me, i wanted to just tell people the right way to use Doom. i could care less if i get banned or warned or whatever i will still continue to contribute in the same fashion i was before, but instead i will just ignore people questioning my credibility.
i just find it a little ridiculous that i even admitted to being wrong and learned the damage but people still wanted to pursue an argument with me.

Well, that isn’t quite the way I would word it (ignore is such a negative word), but yes. There’s no need to get worked up about something Day1God posts. He says what he wants to say just like anyone else. I read over the post, and consider any new information.
I’m sure someone is going to read this and take offense, but to use your wording, “I ignore everything **anyone **says that isn’t relevant”. Most forum users do the same. Example: I made a thread on the Hulk board about how to use Hulk’s under-utilized s.. People don’t care to know how to use it, so most everyone ignored that thread. That’s how forums work.
yeah but not everybody says whatever they want or else there would be havoc. If you could flame, troll, ego, talk sh*t about how bad everyone is, etc. whenever you wanted then what’s the point of mods? Point is some people are going to get irritated but whatever, that’s just my 2 cents, I’ll ignore it from now on. It’s not really a big deal, it was just sort of annoying.
And yes, ignore is the word for it, if you want to use a word that sounds nicer then by all means do so.
Korr1 im implore you to read my posts and try and think about it this way. yes they sound very sure of myself, but if I’m right about what im saying why shouldn’t i be. The only way to create change in how current people play is to let them know that they aren’t maximizing efficiency and back up your idea’s with logic or facts thats all I’ve been doing. In my positioning thread, the tldr section is somewhat of a joke and if you actually read my post im sure you’ll find alot of the things i wrote to be true and worthwhile.
In the end its up to you, but if you haven’t noticed in every thread ive posted in, if i realize im wrong i always accept it and usually thank the person for teaching me something new.
well if that’s day1god, its good to finally see him on the stream. and he does play a good doom.
But it is by no means a great doom and i haven’t seen anything that i personally dont do at home or that others have shown in their neck of the woods. props to doing well on the East coast. good to see you back on US soil. stop dropping them combos tho.
